1.a Essences

In addition to Race, Class, and Background, a player chooses an Essence for their character. It represents a natural aptitude or training in youth. When using these rules, racial ability score increases are not uses, instead you gain the attributes listed from your Essence and Background. Essences also grant a trait and access to feats that have that Essence as a perquisite. You may only have one essence, losing access to any old ones (And their feats) should you gain a new one under any circumstance.
The feats will be available within the Feats section to add to one's sheet once chosen.

Intellectual Essence
Can be said to be blessed with intelligence and mental acuity, those born with the Essence of Intellect often can seem almost clairvoyant with their ability to parse information in comparison to those with out their superior intelligence. Though they are not born with the innate spark of arcane, they are often seen ancillary to mages as engineers and sages. Not to mention, integral to a smooth running government for better or worse.
Ability Score Increase: +2 Int, Wis, or Cha
Intellectual Aptitude: Choose one of your skill or tool proficiency, your proficency bonus is doubled for any ability check that uses that proficiency. At 11th level, you may choose a second proficiency to gain this bonus to.
Intellectual Feat:
You may select one Intellect Feat at first level, and may choose to take in place of any other feat or Ability Score Increase the character receives.


Mighty Essence
Those born under the auspices of the Essence of Might are legends in the making. Their bodies naturally become of peek condition. They rarely find sickness. They rarely know loss, because when they fight it often results in a spectacle so brutal that they become a rumor.
Ability Score Increase: +2 Str, Dex, or Con
Potent Strikes: When you roll a critical hit with a melee or thrown weapon, you can roll an additional weapon damage dice and drop the lowest result. (Treat like Advantage)
Powerful Build: Count as one size catagory larger for carry compacity, grapple, push, pull, and drag.
Might Feat: You may select one Might Feat at first level, and may choose to take in place of any other feat or Ability Score Increase the character receives.


Agile Essence
Those born under the Essence of Agility, are extremely quick. Not simply of hand, but of mouth and wit as well. They often find themselves drawn to shadowed paths, feeling unchallenged in normal society that moves too slowly for them. They are not content unless they race forward unheeding the future. Others, find themselves putting their grace to work for the people, both in civil means as explorers and archeologists, but to the military means, as rangers and skirmishers in various nations military.
Ability Score Increase: +2 Dex, Wis, or Cha.
Fleet: Your movement is increased by 10ft.
Agility Feat: You may select one Agility Feat at first level, and may choose to take in place of any other feat or Ability Score Increase the character receives.


Gifted Essence
The Gifted, or also known as the Essence of Arcane, are those born with the natural affinity to weld the power to warp reality. Magic. While hard work can result those of other essences to develop the skills needed to manifest the power of the world, those born Gifted as exactly that, gifted. Their magic often manifests young and is almost always more powerful than their peers. In a majority of places, those born under this sign are rare and become important wether they wanted the attention or not.
Ability Score Increase: +2 Int, Wis, Cha.
The Gift of Magic: You gain one Cantrip of choice from any spell list. If you are a spellcaster with a spellcasting ability for spells, that cantrip inherits that ability as its spellcasting ability. If you are not, its spellcasting ability is which ever abillity score you increase through this feature.
Gifted Feat: You may select one Gifted Feat at first level, and may choose to take in place of any other feat or Ability Score Increase the character receives.


Pious Essence
Those born with the Essence of Faith have a strong connection to something beyond the world. They likely do not fully understand their power, and do not seek to put a definition to it. It tends to be a barrier between those of faith vs those of knowledge. While it often is perceived as a holy calling, there is nothing inheritably good in this Essence. Those with it are often filled with a purpose they believe in, whether it is their own calling or a calling set to them.
Ability Score Increase: +2 Con, Wis, Cha.
Rewarded Faith: You gain one Cantrip of choice from any spell list. If you are a spellcaster with a spellcasting ability for spells, that cantrip inherits that ability as its spellcasting ability. If you are not, its spellcasting ability is which ever abillity score you increase through this feature.
Faith Feat: You may select one Faith Feat at first level, and may choose to take in place of any other feat or Ability Score Increase the character receives.
