When a ghoul releases these cells that are stored in a Kakuhou organ sac, it pierces the skin and forms a ghoul kagune. This kagune acts as an extension to their muscles. This kagune can be reshaped if the user wants. Meaning it can look different. The type of kagune varies from person to person. Depending on where your Kakuhou sac is located determines the type of kagune you have.
Kagune (Ukaku)
The Ukaku Kagune type. Ghouls who use a Ukaku are usually much more agile and quicker. This is because their kagune is developed where their shoulder blades are. Their biggest weakness, though, is their stamina. They usually strike with a bunch of really quick punches and kicks, but after a few minutes, they usually get tired. When they release their kagune, it usually takes the shape of wings. Famous people with the Ukaku Kagune are Touka Kirishima, Kuzen Yoshimura, and Ayato Kirishima.
KAGUNE (Rinkaku)
The Rinkaku Kagune type. The Rinakaku usually forms around the lower back area near the waist. Ghouls who have a Rinkaku kagune usually regenerate more quickly than other ghouls, though their kagune itself doesn't have the greatest durability. It can be cut a lot more easily than the other Kagunes. When the Rinkaku kagune is released, it usually appears as multiple tentacle-like limbs. Famous people who use this kagune are Ken Kaneki, the protagonist, and Rize.
KAGUNE (Koukaku)
The Koukaku Kagune type. The Koukaku usually forms right below the shoulder blades, making it right below the Ukaku Kagune. Unlike the Ukaku Kagune, which relies heavily on Speed. The Koukaku relies heavily on its defense. It's not really good at long-distance fights, but it is the best at close-range fighting. It's really good against a Ukaku type since a Ukaku type usually has trouble getting through its defense with long-range attack, and in a close-quarters fight, they're at a disadvantage. With that being said, their regeneration is a lot slower than the other kagune types. It's weak against a Rinkaku type. Famous users of the Koukaku Kagune are Shuu Tsukiyama, Kuki Urie, and Arata Kirishima.
KAGUNE (Bikaku)
The Bikaku Kagune type. The Bikaku forms right below the Rinkaku at the bottom of the back. It emerges as a tail like organ. The Bikaku is good in a fight against the Rinkaku but weak against the Ukaku Kagune. An Bikaku user is mainly an all around fighter not being too good at anything in special or to bad at anything. Notable user of the Bikaku Kagune are Matasaka Kamishiro, Tatara, and Nishiki Nishio.
