Quinque

Quinque are weapons used by CCG members their made out of the Kakuhou organ from ghouls and quinque steel. This steel is extremely tough as it's the only thing that can break through the skin and kill ghouls. When a member of the CCG kills a ghoul, that ghoul can be sent to the CCG laboratory, which is located in Tokyo's 1st ward. When you first start out as a CCG investigator, rank 3 your not given a Quinque in stead all you have is a gun with Q-bullets. Once you become Rank 2, you are given a Quinque Briefcase. The quinque you get at Rank 2 is usually a C or B rank quinque.

Claiming "Ownership" Rights
For an investigator to get a made Quinque, they first need to do the following. The investigator must accurately identify the RC type during combat. They must kill the ghoul without destroying the Kakuhou organ. If this organ is destroyed, they cannot make a quinque out of it. The investigator has to send a request form to the Main HQ of the CCG, which is located in the Tokyo 1st ward. After the request form has been sent, the project is then forwarded to Chief Researcher Chigyou's division.

Senior Priority and S-Rate Restrictions
High-grade weapons made from S, SS, or SSS-rate ghouls are highly coveted military assets. A junior investigator cannot simply claim a high-tier weapon just because they participated in the raid. Only Senior Investigators (First Class, Associate Special Class, and Special Class) are cleared to wield high-rated quinques. : If a high-ranking investigator dies or retires, their prized quinques are stored in the CCG quinque warehouse. Other senior investigators can formally apply to inherit them. For example, Akira Mado inherited the powerful Fueguchi One quinque from her deceased father, Kureo Mado.

Biometric Security locks
Even after a quinque is assigned, the investigator cannot easily share or trade it on a whim. The briefcases employ biometric authentication built directly into the handle grips. The mechanism will only unlock and deploy the weapon if it reads the biological data of the registered owner or an explicitly authorized handler, effectively preventing theft by ghouls or unapproved junior staff.
