The momotaro

I. Origin

From the heavens came a seed — a celestial peach that fell into mortal soil.
From it was born Momotaro, the child of purity, destined to cleanse the world of corruption.
He walked among men and saw the Oni’s fire and declared it blasphemy.

His tears were said to birth rivers; his wrath, storms. Guided by celestial beasts — the Dog, Monkey, and Pheasant — he led the first crusade, the War of the First Dawn, against the Oni.

The Oni were driven into shadow. The heavens rejoiced.
And from Momotaro’s bloodline came the Order of the Peach, guardians of divine purity — the Momotaro Clan.

II. Blood and Power

The blood of Momotaro is light made flesh.
It manifests as radiant energy that burns corruption, heals wounds, and binds spirits.
Through ritual and discipline, Momotaro heirs awaken Divine Resonance, the mirror of the Oni’s Blood Eclipse.

Their powers are often radiant but merciless:

  • Light that purges impurities — and souls.

  • Chains of faith that can seal bloodlines.

  • Spears of divine wrath capable of annihilating Oni in an instant.

Yet this power, too, is a curse.
The more a Momotaro hunts, the more the Light within corrodes them.
Some fall to madness, becoming Hollow Saints — beings of blinding purity who see sin even in themselves.

III. Creed and Order

The Momotaro revere discipline above emotion. They see feelings as the root of chaos — the very essence that gave birth to the Oni.
Their doctrine:

  1. Emotion is impurity. Control it.

  2. The Oni are the disease; we are the cure.

  3. Purity must not question purpose.

Over centuries, their order became rigid and militarized — a holy bureaucracy that wages silent war in modern shadows.

They operate through agencies hidden within governments, temples, and churches, training hunters from childhood to wield the light.
Many do not even question why they fight — only that they must.

IV. The Fading Light

But the heavens are not eternal.
The divine blood thins with each generation, its power unstable.
Children born of mixed lineage — half Oni, half Momotaro — now exist, cursed by both legacies.

To the Order, they are abominations.
To the Oni, they are proof of hope — that coexistence is possible.

And so the world trembles at the rumor of a Child of Both, destined either to end the war or burn the heavens and hells alike.

V. The Eternal Paradox

Both bloodlines are reflections of one truth:
Light without emotion becomes tyranny.
Emotion without restraint becomes ruin.

Oni and Momotaro — flame and light — were never meant to destroy each other.
They were meant to complete each other.

But until that truth is remembered, the earth will remain divided,
and the blood of gods and demons will never rest.
