I. The Dawn of the Bloodlines

In the forgotten age before history, the Oni walked among men. They were spirits of fire and shadow — born from the primal chaos that existed before the sun knew warmth. Though their appearance was terrifying, their hearts were not bound to evil; they were the guardians of balance, watchers between realms.

From the heavens descended Momotaro, the child of light — a being who claimed to bring justice and order to the mortal lands. But his light was harsh and blinding. Seeing the Oni as demons, he raised the banner of purity and waged a holy war to purge them.

The blood of that war still stains the earth.
Those born of Oni blood inherited power and sin alike. Those of Momotaro’s line inherited righteousness and vengeance. Two legacies — both cursed — still shape the destiny of humankind.

II. The Age of Shadows

Centuries passed. The world forgot the gods and monsters, yet their descendants endured in silence. The Oni hid their blood within human cities, forming hidden clans beneath the shadows of society. The Momotaro built an empire of exorcists and soldiers who hunted the Oni’s kind under the banner of divine retribution.

Yet, both sides have long since lost sight of the truth.
What began as divine justice became obsession. What began as survival became wrath.
Thus was born the endless war of the Cursed Bloodlines.

III. The Modern Era

In the cities of steel and light, the old war continues unseen. The Momotaro Agency trains hunters to root out the Oni wherever they may hide. In response, the Oni Agency gathers those awakened to their demonic heritage — children born with power boiling in their veins — and teaches them how to control it before it consumes them.

Among them rises Shiki Ichinose, a boy who lived his life unaware that demon blood flowed within him. When his adoptive father, a former Momotaro agent, is slain in a clash between the two factions, Shiki’s blood awakens in a blaze of crimson flame. His grief becomes the spark of a new chapter in the ancient war.

He enters the Oni Academy — a fortress-school hidden from human eyes — where the descendants of demons learn to master their cursed gifts and survive in a world that hates them.

IV. The Nature of Blood

The blood of the Oni is alive. When an Oni awakens, their soul manifests through Blood Arts — grotesque and beautiful powers born from pain, rage, and memory.
No two powers are alike; each is the reflection of one’s inner scars. Some wield fire, some steel, some shape their blood into weapons or beasts. To master one’s blood is to confront one’s past — for the Oni’s greatest enemy is not the Momotaro, but the self within.

The Momotaro bloodline carries divine resonance — light that purges, binds, and seals. Their strength grows with discipline and purity, but those who lose their faith are devoured by their own holiness, becoming “fallen heroes,” twisted by the light they once served.

V. The Eternal Conflict

Neither side remembers the first truth:
that Oni and Momotaro were once kin — the two halves of the same creation.

Yet the war endures, driven by vengeance older than civilization. Blood calls to blood; hatred breeds heirs; the world turns red again. The Oni seek freedom from persecution; the Momotaro seek to cleanse what they call corruption. Both believe themselves righteous. Both are wrong.

Between them lies the fragile peace of mankind — unaware that beneath their streets and schools, a secret war shapes the fate of the world.

VI. The Current Age of Tougen

The present day is called the Era of Tougen, “the Hidden Paradise.”
It is neither paradise nor peace, but the fragile calm before revelation.
Both bloodlines grow restless. The walls between human and Oni crumble. Prophecies whisper of a “Child of Both” who will unite or destroy the world — one whose blood carries both Heaven’s light and Hell’s flame.

And thus begins the new tale —
of those cursed by their ancestors,
and the one who will decide whether the world’s blood will at last run pure…
or boil forever.
