Main Quest

The world was broken and become tidally locked to the violet moon when Cratos broke the soul of Selune. Now her soul is trapped in The End as a being of pure light, and the main Player Character is secretly the other half of her soul, made mortal, unbeknownst to anyone but Cratos. Cratos has displaced the other gods of the realm in this act, taking their divine powers unto himself. If the player kills Loth, Umberlee, Sylvanus, Tyr, Hades, Odin, and Freya before reuniting with Selune in The End, Cratos will cement his rule over the lands eternally. If the player reunites with Selune in the The End and has not killed Loth, Umberlee, Sylvanus, Tyr, Hades, Odin, and Freya before reuniting with Selune in The End, they all regain their divine forms, Heaven and Hell return to their planes, and Cratos becomes mortal again.

The path of the player is intended to be one where the people of the world, influenced by the violet moon of Cratos, generally steer the player towards taking on challenges to level up and defeat Loth, Umberlee, Sylvanus, Tyr, Hades, Odin, and Freya. After these battles the player would be guided in some way to see Bogart at Bogart's Shipyard to build a vessel that they can use to fight their way across the Abyssal Ocean to Aethelgard Isles, where they then have to fight their way to the World's Beacon in order to portal to The End. Both the Abyssal Ocean crossing and the Aethelgard Isles are meant to be encounters geared around level 16 and above players, with lower-level ones being guided to level up first. Once the player arrives at The End, they make a choice to either unite their soul with Selune, or turn back and continue their own life. Uniting with Selune ends the campaign story and the DM should describe how the world changes, encouraging the player to start a new campaign.
