"Connection is the Best Calibration!”
Hello, Newcomers! We’ve noticed some of you looking a bit lonely at the Transit Hub. While your past life might have been a "solo act," life in the Vault is a team sport! In the Great Machine of Chronos, a lone gear has no one to mesh with—and a gear that doesn't mesh eventually grinds to a halt.
Making "Friends" isn't just a social suggestion; it’s a survival strategy! But remember: the best friends aren't the ones who are just like you. The best friends are the ones who fill your gaps!
When choosing your new Vault-Family, look for variety! A circle of friends should be like the cogs in a well-oiled watch—full of different sizes and shapes working in harmony:
FRIENDS WHO PROTECT: It’s always nice to have a Brawler or a Soldier around! They’re the "Big Brothers and Sisters" of the Vault. When a malfunctioning bot gets too close, a true friend puts their reinforced plating between you and the danger!
FRIENDS WHO THINK: Having a Scientist or Engineer for a friend is like having a living library. They can explain why the floor is suddenly screaming, and more importantly, how to make it stop!
FRIENDS WHO FIX: We all have "off days." Maybe you took a steam-vent to the chest or your favorite gadget snapped. That’s why you need a Medic or a Survivalist nearby. They’ll patch you up with a smile (and maybe some experimental tonic)!
FRIENDS WHO LEAD: Sometimes we all get a little lost in the smog of the Forge-Wheel. A Leader is a friend who keeps everyone’s spirits high and their gears synchronized!
"Hot dog, pals! You can't have a parade with just one person! Whether you’re a shiny new Automaton or a dusty old Human, you’ve got to find your 'Party!' Remember: a friend is just a stranger who hasn't helped you meet your scrap quota yet!"
“I used to spend every night in the Dredge Disk shivering behind a rusted boiler, terrified of the Wonderland Animatronics. I thought being a 'lone-wolf' was the only way to survive. Then I met Arthur, a soldier from some 'World War,' and everything changed. Now, while I’m busy decoding the locks on supply crates, he’s watching my back with a steady rifle and a calm word. I’m not just hiding anymore—I’m eating, I’m safe, and I actually have someone to talk to. Trust me, Citizens: finding the right 'Friend Unit' isn't just a rule; it’s the only way to stay human in this machine.” — Citizen #276-C
