Congratulations, Citizen! You have successfully completed your initial processing at The Bureau of Assignment. Your soul has been logged, your era has been archived, and your gear has been (mostly) decontaminated. Now comes the most exciting part of your integration: The Waiting Period.
While the Master of Seconds calculates the perfect "slot" for your talents—whether that be the academic heights of the Forge-Wheel or the ornamental elegance of the Clockwork Gardens—you have been issued your Provisional Transfer Orders.
Standard logistical calibration usually requires a one to four-week waiting period. While this may seem like a long time to those from "faster" timelines, remember: in the Vault, time is our most abundant resource!
How to Spend Your "Wait-Time":
CITIZEN ORIENTATION: Use this time to visit the New Horizons Community Center. It is the perfect place to find your "Buddy" (see our previous article!) and trade stories of the "Before-Times."
ACCLIMATIZATION: Get used to the smell of ozone and the rhythmic ticking of the city. If the constant ticking causes insomnia, please report to a Warden for a complimentary "Sleep-Sync" adjustment.
SKILL AUDITS: Practice your trade! Whether you’re a smith, a coder, or a warrior, the Vault rewards those who keep their tools sharp.
When your number is finally called at the The Bureau of Assignment, your transition will be seamless!
SECTOR SYNC: You will receive a fresh set of clothes appropriate for your new home (Expect plenty of brass buttons!).
ROLE ALLOCATION: You will be given a "Purpose." Remember: A Citizen without a Purpose is just a gear without a tooth.
CHRONO-STAMPING: Your identification papers will be permanently synced to your new Sector’s local time-dilation.
