ELDARTH

The Jewel of the South

Location: Southern Peninsula of the Isle of Vaeloris
Type: Prosperous Port and Trade City
Population: Approximately 35,000 Permanent Residents
Government: Council of Rings
Common Saying: "In Eldarth, everything has a price — including silence."

Eldarth is one of the most prosperous and strategically important cities within the Sovereign Accord. Located upon the southern peninsula of the Isle of Vaeloris, the city sits where the sea meets the great inland lake, creating one of the most valuable trade crossroads in the realm.

Built following the Great Wyrmfall, Eldarth was intentionally designed to symbolize unity between Humanity and Elfkind. Unlike many settlements that clearly belong to either the Iron Throne or the Starlight Throne, Eldarth exists in a delicate balance between both powers. Human merchants dominate much of its commerce while Elven nobles, diplomats, and military officers maintain a strong political presence.

The city is built in a distinctive circular pattern that expands outward in concentric rings from the Harvest Crown Market at its center. Wide stone roads connect the districts, while canals and bridges help move goods throughout the city. Massive stone bridges connect the island to the mainland, and its deep natural harbor allows trade vessels from across Vaeloris to dock safely.

To travelers, Eldarth appears vibrant and welcoming.

To residents, it is a city of opportunity, secrets, old grudges, political maneuvering, and careful silence.

Trade, influence, and information flow through Eldarth as reliably as coin.

Many fortunes have been made within its walls.

Many secrets have been buried beneath them.

GOVERNMENT

Eldarth is governed by the Council of Rings, a civic body formed to ensure neither the Iron Throne nor the Starlight Throne can fully dominate the city.

The council consists of:

  • Merchant representatives

  • Noble delegates

  • Religious officials

  • Guild leaders

  • Civic administrators

  • Military observers from both kingdoms

The city is protected by the Ringwatch, an independent law enforcement force responsible for enforcing local law, maintaining order, and overseeing city security.

While the Iron Vanguard and Starlight Guard both maintain a presence within Eldarth, neither military organization may directly enforce city law without approval from the Council of Rings except during declared emergencies.
