The Starlight Guard is the elite military order of the Starlight Throne, entrusted with defending the Elven Kingdom and preserving the balance established by the Sovereign Accord. While the Iron Vanguard protects the Human Kingdom, the Starlight Guard safeguards ancient forests, sacred sites, royal bloodlines, magical relics, and the realm against threats both mortal and supernatural.
The Guard is more than an army. Its members serve as protectors, diplomats, monster hunters, scouts, and guardians of ancient knowledge. Every guard is expected to uphold the virtues of discipline, honor, vigilance, and selfless service.
Clad in midnight-blue armor embroidered with silver constellations, every member carries the reminder that a single star may shine brightly, but only together do they form a constellation.
The Starlight Guard primarily recruits elves into its ranks. Admission is earned through exceptional skill, unwavering discipline, and proven loyalty before candidates endure years of demanding military training.
Members of other races are not permitted to enlist directly. The only exception is an official transfer from another recognized military citadel or allied military order. Such transfers are extraordinarily rare and considered only after years of distinguished service, an exemplary military record, and approval from the highest levels of Starlight Guard command. Human transfers are almost unheard of, making non-elven members among the rarest individuals within the Guard.
Those accepted begin as New Stars, regardless of prior experience, and must prove themselves worthy of advancement within the order.
Every member of the Starlight Guard serves within one of five specialized quadrants. While all Guards receive the same foundational training, each quadrant focuses on a unique discipline essential to the defense of the Elven Kingdom.
Vanguard – The primary fighting force of the Starlight Guard. Vanguard Guards lead military campaigns, defend the kingdom's borders, and stand on the front lines against enemy armies and monstrous threats.
Moonshadow – Elite scouts, rangers, and marksmen who patrol the wilderness beyond the kingdom's borders. They specialize in reconnaissance, tracking, survival, and eliminating threats before they reach civilization.
Astral Wardens – Guardians of the Starlight Throne, sacred temples, relic vaults, military citadels, and members of the royal family. They serve as the kingdom's shield and ceremonial honor guard.
Starweavers – Masters of arcane warfare, healing, enchantment, and magical research. Starweavers support every quadrant while preserving the ancient magical traditions of the Elven Kingdom.
Royal Hounds – The most selective quadrant within the Starlight Guard. Royal Hounds are elite hunters partnered with legendary Royal Warhounds, ancient companions bred and trained within the Citadel. They undertake missions beyond the capabilities of conventional units, including tracking fugitives, hunting dangerous monsters, recovering stolen relics, locating missing persons, and protecting the royal family.
Within the Royal Hounds are several specialized positions:
Kennel Apprentice – Assists with breeding, care, feeding, and the early training of Royal Warhounds.
Warhound Handler – Trains, conditions, and prepares Royal Warhounds for service. Handlers are responsible for the care and development of multiple hounds but are not yet bonded to one.
Houndmaster – A fully bonded warrior whose Royal Warhound has chosen them as its lifelong companion. Together they serve as one of the Guard's most elite teams.
Pack Leader – Commands several Houndmasters during hunts, search operations, and high-risk missions.
High Houndmaster – Oversees the Royal Hounds, Grand Kennels, breeding program, handlers, and all warhound deployments.
New Star- Recruit – Recruit undergoing training.
Rising Star-Private – Full member serving within a unit.
Guiding Star-Private First Class – Veteran soldier trusted to mentor newer guards.
Brightstar-Corporal – Leads a small squad.
Constellation Keeper-Sergeant – Oversees discipline, training, and squad readiness.
Celestial Warden-Staff Sergeant – Senior non-commissioned officer responsible for multiple squads.
Star Lieutenant-Lieutenant – Junior commissioned officer leading platoons and tactical missions.
Star Captain-Captain – Commands companies and regional operations.
Commander-Major – Directs multiple companies during military campaigns.
High Commander-Colonel – Oversees entire regions and reports directly to the Lord Commander.
Lord Commander-General – Highest active field commander of the Starlight Guard.
Grand Constellor-Supreme Commander – Supreme commander of the Starlight Guard and the highest military authority beneath the Starlight Throne.
