New Orleans

Status: Camarilla-Aligned Domain

Overview

New Orleans is a Camarilla city in name, though its order is theatrical at best. The Prince claims dominion with salons, edicts, and gilded Elysiums in the French Quarter. But the city’s beating heart is chaos — Anarch gangs in Tremé, dockside rebels in Bywater, neonates who see Carnival as loophole instead of law.

The Masquerade here bends, not breaks. Mardi Gras serves as proof and danger — a night where predators can gorge under masks while elders insist it is their triumph of secrecy. In truth, the city is a balance beam: one misstep could tip it into open war or mortal discovery.

Sect Alignment

  • Nominal Allegiance: Camarilla.

  • Reality: Camarilla rule in French Quarter & Garden District, contested by Anarchs in Tremé and Bywater. Cemeteries are a wild frontier. Uptown is neonate territory.

The Prince of New Orleans

Prince Éloise Duvall

  • Clan: Toreador

  • Apparent Age: Early 30s, Embraced in 1760s.

  • Style: Courtly, theatrical, clings to French colonial heritage.

  • Stance: Insists Mardi Gras is her “masterpiece” — the ultimate Masquerade. Enforces hospitality with ruthless elegance.

  • Strengths: Political charisma, Harpy alliances, Toreador prestige.

  • Weaknesses: Relies on theater more than force; Anarchs exploit this.

Court Officers

  • Seneschal: Isaiah Cade (Ventrue) — Old-money magnate, manages Garden District domains. Loyal in public, plotting in private.

  • Sheriff: Marcus “Red Hand” Broussard (Brujah) — Brutal enforcer, ex-Anarch bought with boons. Commands a pack of Hounds.

  • Keeper of Elysium: Celeste Armand (Toreador) — Curator of a French Quarter art hall. Enforces neutrality with iron etiquette.

  • Harpies:

    • Julien Delacroix (Nosferatu): Information broker, feared gossip.

    • Mireille St. Claire (Tremere): Cold, calculating, still commands occult respect despite Vienna’s fall.

Primogen Council

  • Toreador: Éloise Duvall herself; nominally steps aside when challenged.

  • Ventrue: Isaiah Cade doubles as Seneschal.

  • Nosferatu: Julien Delacroix, speaks for the city’s shadows.

  • Brujah: A divided seat; some Brujah support Camarilla, others fuel Anarch cause.

  • Gangrel: Rarely attend, but one drifter, Sylvain Rocheaux, claims the Cemeteries as his “domain.”

  • Tremere: Mireille St. Claire, clinging to fractured chantry authority.

  • Malkavians: No formal representative; rumors say visions guide them elsewhere.

Domains & Districts

  • French Quarter: Prince’s seat, Toreador salons, formal Elysiums.

  • Garden District: Ventrue wealth and havens; elder stronghold.

  • Tremé: Anarch heartland; Brujah and Nosferatu gangs.

  • Cemeteries: Gangrel hunting grounds, necromantic whispers.

  • Bywater/Docks: Anarch smugglers, Brujah crews, Nosferatu warrens.

  • Uptown & Universities: Neonate playground; mortal herds, reckless hunts.

Sect Tensions

  • Camarilla Control: French Quarter, Garden District.

  • Anarch Pressure: Tremé and Bywater.

  • Independent Stirrings: Whispers of Ministry cults, Hecata necromancers among the tombs.

  • Sabbat Threat: None permanent, but packs appear like storms, always leaving blood behind.

Second Inquisition Pressure

  • New Orleans is a tourist city — cameras everywhere, federal eyes on ports and airports.

  • Nosferatu whisper that Operation FIRSTLIGHT has flagged Carnival as a potential “annual security risk.”

  • Camarilla paranoia runs high: neonates banned from online visibility; breaches punished brutally.
