Obfuscate

Obfuscate is the Discipline of concealment. It lets a Kindred vanish from sight, blend into crowds, mask their presence, or even cloak others in invisibility. Unlike Protean’s bestial tricks or Auspex’s revelations, Obfuscate is pure absence — the art of not being seen.

Favored by Nosferatu, Malkavians, and Banu Haqim, Obfuscate is the great equalizer: the grotesque can walk unnoticed, the weak can escape, the predator can strike unseen.

Narrative Uses

  • A Nosferatu Harpy attending Elysium unseen, listening to every whisper.

  • A hunter walks past their quarry without realizing the vampire crouches in the corner.

  • An assassin cloaks their coterie to slip into an enemy’s haven.

  • A neonate feeds in a crowded club, unseen by mortals.

  • An elder hides their very aura from Auspex scrutiny.

Obfuscate is subtle, silent, and terrifying. The moment you realize it’s been used, it’s already too late.

Themes

  • Obfuscate is the Discipline of secrets — it makes lies possible, plots invisible, horrors hidden.
