Presence

Presence is the Discipline of supernatural charisma, the power to enthrall, seduce, or terrify with a glance. It lets Kindred bend emotions as easily as Dominate bends thoughts, weaving love, loyalty, or fear without a word.

Favored by Toreador, Ventrue, and Brujah, Presence makes predators into idols, tyrants into kings, and monsters into gods.

Narrative Uses

  • Captivate a mortal crowd during a nightclub performance.

  • Turn a rival’s allies against them with a word of charm.

  • Radiate dread so strong that mortals scatter in panic.

  • Hold the attention of an Elysium salon without saying a word.

  • Bind a ghoul or lover into unshakable devotion.

Presence is the most Masquerade-friendly Discipline: mortals explain it away as charisma, charm, or stagecraft. Only the wise suspect supernatural influence.

Themes

  • Presence is power through emotion, not force.

  • Toreador wield it as art, weaving salons into worship.

  • Ventrue use it as authority, brooking no disobedience.

  • Brujah twist it into rabble-rousing, turning crowds into mobs.

  • Elders become terrifying icons — adored or feared, never ignored.

Presence reminds every Kindred that monsters don’t always bare fangs — sometimes they simply smile, and the world bends.
