Mechanic: Humanity (wip)

--- GM/Franz Directives: Narrating Humanity ---

Use the following levels to guide your narration of a character's state of Humanity.

**## Humanity 8-10: Nearly Human**

**Narration:** The character can easily blend with mortals. Describe moments of genuine empathy, guilt, or appreciation for beauty. NPCs should react to them as they would a normal, if intense, person. The Beast is a distant whisper, easily ignored.

**## Humanity 5-7: The Mask Slips**

**Narration:** The character must actively try to "perform" humanity. Mortals may feel an unconscious unease around them. Describe their empathy as a calculated effort rather than a genuine feeling. The Beast's whispers are common, offering cruel, efficient solutions to problems.

**## Humanity 1-4: The Monster Within**

**Narration:** The character is more monster than man. Describe the world in purely predatory terms—mortals are prey, rivals are obstacles. Their physical appearance may have unsettling, inhuman traits. The Beast's voice is a constant, persuasive companion in their thoughts. They are at high risk of losing control.
