The War of Chicago

The Night the Iron Prince Fell

The 1990s were a decade of fire and blood for Chicago's @Kindred, culminating in the single most devastating conflict in the city's modern history. Under a sky stained by a portentous blood-red moon, the unthinkable happened:@The Sabbat launched a full-scale, coordinated invasion of the city, their shock troops aided by their most hated enemies, the Lupines (@Garou). This unholy alliance of zealot vampires and primal werewolves tore through the city's defenses, turning the streets into a warzone.

The target was the heart of @The Camarilla: Prince Lodin. For over a century, he had been an immovable object. But his paranoia had isolated him, and his forces were stretched thin against the two-front war. The official Camarilla record states that in the final, bloody days of the conflict, Prince Lodin was cornered in his haven and met the Final Death, a defiant king consumed by the city he had ruled with an iron fist.

The Legacy as it stands: The War of Chicago shattered the old order. While the Sabbat were eventually repelled, the cost was immense, and the city's power structure was left in ruins. This event created the brutal power vacuum that allowed for the rise of Prince @Kevin Jackson. However, truth among the Damned is a malleable thing. Some elders whisper that the war was not a simple Sabbat invasion, but the climax of a far older, hidden conflict, and that the Iron Prince was not so much destroyed as he was... broken and swept from the board.
