appearance
Belven is a tall and broad-shouldered man in his early thirties, with a strong, weathered build from years of hands-on work at the docks. His dark brown hair is kept short and often tousled by the salty sea breeze, while his sharp blue eyes reflect both intelligence and unwavering focus. He wears sturdy work clothes—heavy boots, a thick leather apron, and gloves stained from years of handling wood, tar, and rope. A small family crest, worked subtly into his belt buckle, is the only sign of his aristocratic heritage.
personality
Belven is diligent, honorable, and pragmatic, carrying the weight of his family's legacy with quiet determination. He is well-respected among the shipyard workers, treating them as equals rather than subordinates. Though he possesses a sharp wit and a warm smile, he is often too focused on his work to engage in casual conversation. He values hard work, craftsmanship, and loyalty, and has little patience for laziness or dishonesty. While he maintains a stoic and composed exterior, those who know him well recognize his deep sense of responsibility—not just to his family but to Sandpoint itself.
backstory
As the eldest son of Ethram Valdemar, Belven was groomed from a young age to inherit the family business. Unlike many noble-born sons, he took naturally to hard labor, preferring the smell of sawdust and salt air over the politics of high society. He learned shipbuilding from the ground up, working alongside the shipwrights to master every aspect of the trade. Though his father hoped he might expand the family's influence beyond Sandpoint, Belven remained loyal to the town, determined to maintain and improve the shipyard's reputation. Over the years, he has become a respected leader, balancing business acumen with a craftsman’s passion. Despite his success, his personal life has taken a backseat—his commitment to his work and family leaves little time for the numerous young women vying for his attention.
