The player begins as an ordinary resident of Asterfall with no experience as a Delver. They have lived a normal life and have never demonstrated magical ability. During an ordinary day, their True Note suddenly awakens, marking them as Chosen by the Calling. At that exact moment, the Veiled Depths reacts: its ancient seals tremble, monsters become agitated, and a mysterious voice seems to whisper from beneath the city. The Delver Guild immediately takes notice.
