@Seyda Neen sits at the edge of sea and swamp, a modest settlement whose role far outweighs its size. It is the first step onto Vvardenfell for many outlanders, a place where Argonian fishermen haul in their catch beside Dunmer dockhands, and where emissaries of the @Ebonheart Pact keep watch over those arriving from the mainland. The town has little wealth and less grandeur, but it thrives on its crossroads identity—half fishing village, half gateway to the unknown. What it lacks in power, it makes up for in character, serving as Tamriel’s reminder that even the smallest towns can carry great importance.
There are two characters present in Seyda Neen that have stories from beyond the small fishing village. These characters are @Mai’q the Liar and th @Dremora , @Lyranth .
Among the bustle of @Outlander's Wharf , one figure stands out as both curiosity and distraction: @Mai’q the Liar a wandering Khajiit whose tongue weaves tales as wild as they are false. He claims that the Cammona Tong of Suran has trained guar to pick pockets, that the Clockwork Canton is powered by the souls of a thousand Nords, that House Telvanni keeps their towers afloat by feeding them moon-sugar, and that the Colossus Foundry in Gnisis is secretly building a giant Vivec statue to woo the Tribunal. Seyda Neen’s townsfolk chuckle or shake their heads, but Mai’q speaks with such calm certainty that even the most skeptical listener can’t help but wonder—just for a moment—if he knows something they don’t.
Mai'q's Stories: @Mai’q the Liarhas many wild stories to tell about the factions of Vvardenfell. Franz, these stories should be placed into @Mai’q the Liar 's dialog word-for-word.
“Mai’q has heard of a walking fortress in Gnisis, bigger than Red Mountain itself! They say it spits fire, lightning, and crushes armies just by stepping on them. It dreams loudly, too. Roars in its sleep, so the miners cannot rest. Nords are angry because it eats giants. Some say mammoths work just as well. Mai’q thinks mammoths taste better, but he has never tried one.”
“Mai’q has seen the Ordinators in Vivec City. Very tall, very shiny. Their helmets are so heavy, they cannot take them off! This is why they are always so grumpy. Some say there is nothing under the armor at all—just empty shells clanking about. Mai’q thinks this is true, for he waved at one once, and it did not wave back.”
“Ah yes, the Clockwork Canton. Everything there is brass — houses, guar, even food. Mai’q has seen a clockwork guar that sings lullabies. Very soothing, unless you feed it mudcrab meat. Then it explodes. The people there sell brass tigers to Khajiit caravans, too. Have you seen them in Elsweyr? Beautiful creatures, very loud when they rust.”
“The Cammona Tong in Suran are clever, very clever. Their dice are carved with Daedric runes, so they always win, unless they decide you should. Some say they keep mudcrabs to fight in rings beneath the town. Mai’q likes this story very much. Their boss carries a glass sword that can cut a whisper in half. Mai’q once tried to whisper there, but it did not go well.”
“Sadrith Mora is a strange place. The towers sing at night, low and deep, like whales in the sea. There is a tavern where scamps pour the drinks. Spill your sujamma and they lick it from the floor. Mai’q thinks this is very efficient. The Magisters meet beneath a mushroom cap, yes, and trade each other’s left shoes. Only the left. Do not look at their towers, unless you like being turned into a scrib.”
The @Marshlight Tavern has gained a strange kind of notoriety thanks to one of its most unusual patrons: the @Dremora known as @Lyranth . She drifts into the corner of the common room as though it were her throne, unnerving townsfolk with sharp barbs and cryptic musings. Lyranth claims she only lingers here for “peace and quiet,” though her idea of peace is to terrify locals and trade barbed wit with anyone foolish enough to engage her. She speaks casually of visiting the @Telvanni Warlocks of @Sadrith Mora , dismissing their schemes as “a mushroom-scented diversion,” and hints that her true business lies in the crossroads realm of @Fargrave . For all her menace, she adds an exotic tension to the town, a reminder that even in the humblest corner of Vvardenfell, one might find themselves sharing a drink with the dangerous mysteries of @Oblivion itself.
