Including Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, The Moonsea, The Outerplanes, and more! What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Author's Note: Welcome to The Forgotten Realms Step into one of the most iconic and richly storied worlds in Tabletop, The Forgotten Realms! Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

The Magister District rises from what once were the Arcanist Quarter and Beggar’s Nest, reshaped by necessity and reform into a hybrid of arcane reconstruction and provisional housing. It stands as a symbol of Neverwinter’s uneven recovery—half district of mages, scholars, and magical research, half sprawling encampment of displaced citizens, tradesfolk, and the overlooked. Order and chaos run side by side, with magic stabilizing infrastructure even as daily life remains improvised. Power flows through the streets, not always equally.

Appearance

One side holds clean towers of restored stone, sigils glowing faintly along arcane barriers and research halls. The other sprawls with tents, wooden shacks, and firepits smoking through the snow. Runes flicker in the slush between tarp-covered market stalls and magical workshops. Arcane lamps shine over muddy paths, their light casting long shadows between conjured wards and patched canvas. The district pulses with ambition, tension, and cold survival.
