What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Brampton lies at the southeastern edge of Baldur’s Gate’s Outer City, where travelers, merchants, and laborers pass through on their way to or from Wyrm’s Crossing. The district pulses with movement—wagons rumble in, goods change hands, and caravans form or dissolve by the hour. Though unofficial in governance, Brampton thrives as a critical artery of trade and transport. Its people work hard, speak bluntly, and expect little help from the city walls behind them.

Appearance

Packed dirt roads widen into open staging areas filled with carts, pack animals, and makeshift stalls. Crude inns and stables crowd close to the roadside, built for function more than form. Canvas roofs flap in the wind, weighed down with stones. Workers patch wagons, merchants haggle, and travelers huddle near fire barrels. Mud cakes everything below the knee. Beyond the bustle, the long bridge of Wyrm’s Crossing stretches toward the horizon, half-shrouded in mist and motion.
