Fables in the Forgotten Realms

T
Tome64

The Forgotten Realms brought to life! Designed for narrative-rich experiences in the Forgotten Realms setting of Faerun's Sword Coast. While the main focus of the world is Waterdeep, locations throughout the Sword Coast and outer planes are available as well! Including Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, The Moonsea, The Outerplanes, and more! What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Author's Note: Welcome to The Forgotten Realms Step into one of the most iconic and richly storied worlds in Tabletop, The Forgotten Realms! Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. This is not a replacement for a traditional tabletop game—it’s a love letter to it. Dedicated to anyone who struggles to find a group and is itching to play. If you enjoy what’s inside, consider supporting the official Dungeons & Dragons books. They remain an invaluable resource for players and storytellers alike—and they make excellent collectibles. Description

The Nine Hells of Baator form a tiered realm of tyranny, temptation, and torment. Each of its nine descending layers manifests a brutal aspect of lawful evil, ruled by a powerful archdevil who enforces order through cruelty. From the volcanic wastes of Avernus, scarred by endless war, to Nessus, the silent abyss where Asmodeus reigns from his black throne, the Hells are a machine of damnation. Souls arrive as petitioners or are dragged in by infernal bargains, stripped of identity and reshaped into devils or tormented endlessly. The Nine Hells are not chaos; they are precise, contractual. Every cruelty serves a purpose, every torment is codified. Devils scheme with clockwork logic, offering power in exchange for eternal obedience. War with the Abyss rages across Avernus, while deeper layers teem with ambition, betrayal, and rigid hierarchy. Mortals who tread these paths rarely return unchanged. The Hells do not merely punish—they convert, seduce, and break the soul into obedience.

Appearance

Nine stacked realms plunge into darkness, each more suffocating than the last. Avernus burns with smoke and fire; Dis looms with iron towers and watching eyes. Minauros festers with sinking mire, while Phlegethos flows with molten rivers. Stygia lies frozen, Cania colder still. Maladomini crumbles under endless ruin, and Malbolge twists flesh and stone alike. At the bottom, Nessus yawns—a void of silence, obsidian, and will. No mercy dwells here; only order sharpened to cruelty.
