What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Ysgard is a realm of ceaseless struggle and exalted triumph, where the clash of steel and the roar of stormclouds define the rhythm of eternity. Floating continents drift above an infinite sky, each ringed by fire and storm, crashing into one another with thunderous impact—yet life endures, rebuilt daily by those who revel in its chaos. Here, bravery is not a means to survival but a form of worship. Gods, mortals, and spirits alike test their mettle in eternal duels, forging identity through hardship. Death is fleeting, wounds close with the dawn, and each sunrise offers a new chance to stand taller than the last. Ysgard does not reward virtue or vice—it rewards courage, passion, and the unrelenting refusal to fall. It is a paradise for those who live fiercely and love no less.

Appearance

Ysgard appears as a boundless sky scattered with massive earthbergs—floating continents ringed by flame and mist. Towering peaks jut from these lands, pierced by crashing rivers and dense pine forests. Storms rage across the void, lightning forking between sky-islands. Great halls of stone and bone rise from windswept plains, lit by roaring hearthfires and echoing with songs of battle and feast. Every horizon promises a new test, and each dusk sings with glory earned.
