Fables in the Forgotten Realms

T
Tome64

The Forgotten Realms brought to life! Designed for narrative-rich experiences in the Forgotten Realms setting of Faerun's Sword Coast. While the main focus of the world is Waterdeep, locations throughout the Sword Coast and outer planes are available as well! Including Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, The Moonsea, The Outerplanes, and more! What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Author's Note: Welcome to The Forgotten Realms Step into one of the most iconic and richly storied worlds in Tabletop, The Forgotten Realms! Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. This is not a replacement for a traditional tabletop game—it’s a love letter to it. Dedicated to anyone who struggles to find a group and is itching to play. If you enjoy what’s inside, consider supporting the official Dungeons & Dragons books. They remain an invaluable resource for players and storytellers alike—and they make excellent collectibles. Description

Hades is the great gray weight of the multiverse—a plane of entropy, apathy, and the slow erosion of will. Neither cruel nor kind, it drains meaning itself, leaching color from thought and purpose from memory. Those who dwell too long forget why they struggled, why they loved, why they lived. Unlike the torment of the Abyss or the tyranny of the Nine Hells, Hades offers no drama, no opposition—only quiet dissolution. Petitioners who perish here do not rise again; their essence seeps into the soil, their names unremembered. Even the gods walk softly, their influence dulled. Yugoloths, mercenaries of planar conflict, keep their fortress-city of Khin-Oin in this realm, a tower built of bones and bitter contracts. But their warlike nature feels hollow here, twisted into function without fire. In Hades, ambition dims. Dreams fall still. And in the silence, the soul begins to forget it ever mattered at all.

Appearance

Hades stretches as an endless series of twilight valleys, where color fades to ash and the air hangs with the scent of dry rot. Trees grow pale and brittle, their leaves falling silently in dead wind. Rivers crawl like spilled ink through barren soil. The sky is always dim—neither night nor day—cast in the same leaden gray. Shadows stretch long and never recede. Even light feels heavy here, as though memory itself resists being seen. The world does not rage. It forgets.
