What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!


Author's Note: Welcome to The Forgotten Realms Step into one of the most iconic and richly storied worlds in Tabletop, The Forgotten Realms! Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Norchapel sits in the northern reaches of Baldur’s Gate’s Outer City, where the noise of the harbor dims but the weight of the city’s weariness deepens. It’s a modest, aging district, once home to devout followers and working-class families. Today, it's a patchwork of rundown shrines, weathered tenements, and faded murals depicting saints no one prays to anymore. The area bears signs of slow decay—flaking paint, shuttered shops, stone steps worn thin by time. Still, a few faithful remain. Quiet priests tend to forgotten altars, candlelight flickers behind stained glass windows, and incense drifts through the streets like a memory. Norchapel doesn’t draw attention, and most who live there prefer it that way. It’s a place for solitude, silence, and faded purpose. The Watch rarely interferes here. Whatever peace Norchapel holds, it clings to it quietly.

Appearance

Norchapel is quiet and subdued. Narrow streets weave between grey-brick buildings softened by ivy and soot. Ancient churches, cracked but standing, rise among slanted homes and humble inns. Many windows are shuttered, and soft candlelight glows behind stained glass panes colored in somber hues. Moss creeps across the cobbles, and thin trees, stunted by smoke and stone, stretch crooked limbs toward the sky. The whole district feels paused—like a held breath, waiting.
