Sword type weapons can clear patches of difficult wooded, forest, grassland, or jungle terrain with ease.
While using a Glove-type weapon you have advantage on Grapples. Additionally you have advantage on unarmed strikes against an opponent you are grappling.
Bow type weapons do not require ammunition. An Arrow is conjured by all Bows when the string is drawn.
Axe type weapons can clear hidden or secret stone walls/pillars with ease.
Javelin type weapons will spawn in the users hand after a miss or damage is applied. This lets them be used as an action every turn. Javelin's can hit multiple enemies in it's path.
Spear-type weapons have a 2/20 chance (on a hit roll of 19 or 20) to decrease the target's AC by 2 for one round.
Whip-type weapons can help the party cross small gaps (doubles the strongest party's jump distance and applies that to the whole party when there is a suitable latch to whip to) or navigate up/down short climbs(advantage to climbing or descending checks when there is a suitable latch to whip on to).
