There are eight Weapons of Mana in the game. The Sword, Spear, Axe, Whip, Boomerang, Gloves, Bow, and Javelin. These Mana Weapons begin the game at their base form. Bosses, designated treasure chests and enemies can drop a Weapon +Orb which can be brought to a blacksmith to upgrade the mana weapon to a +1 weapon. Each Mana Weapon has eight +Orbs in the world bringing the ultimate form of the Mana Weapons to a +8 weapon. Watts, the Blacksmith travels occasionally so he can be found on every continent except the Lost Continent and the Mana Fortress. He will charge the party a few hundred gold to forge the +Orbs into the Mana Weapons. When you forge a +7 or +8 Mana Weapon, Watts should joke about how the party is letting him afford a palace!
