Description

Van Horn Mansion, a haunting two-story edifice, looms over the Lannahechee River in the Roanoke Ridge area. Once a majestic vision of the founders of the Van Horn Trading Post, it now lies in decay, with boarded windows and scattered debris signaling its lost grandeur. The air is laden with the odor of damp wood and neglect, while the nearby river's gentle flow adds to the eerie ambiance. After a robbery, two criminals have taken refuge in the mansion, sleeping as the player arrives—one sprawled on a bedroll and the other slumped over a table, having stoked the fire and dozed off while counting their loot.

Appearance

The mansion features a weathered facade with peeling paint and broken shutters. The upper floor is mostly boarded up, and the ground level is cluttered with crates and debris, giving it a forsaken look. Inside, the dim light flickers from a small fire, casting shadows on the walls, where remnants of a once opulent life linger.
