The Alpine League is a group of mountain strongholds in Switzerland. It closed the mountain passes in 2035 and kept most of its people alive. It is Europe's strongest power.
It is ruled from Bern, from the old Federal Palace. Forts hold the high passes, such as Grimsel Pass Fort in the Swiss Alps. Its valleys have farms, dams and working power.
Urs Baumann, 62, male, is the president of the League Council in Bern. He decides who may cross the passes. At Grimsel Pass Fort, Lukas Brunner is the fort commander and Anna Frei is a mountain guide.
The League wants to keep its people safe, and to keep what it has. It is careful and closed. It is rich in food and dam power.
Outsiders may trade at the pass forts but rarely get further in. The few who are let in must pass a blood test and wait in quarantine.
Mutated are kept in quarantine huts below the passes. Undead are shot at the pass.
Cheese, grain, dried meat, tools and medicine made in its own labs. It buys salt, metal and news.
Allies. The Northern Commonwealth.
Trade. The Salt Fleet, through northern ports.
Enemies. Raiders from the dead lowland cities.
There is no special stat block for the Alpine League. For trained guards and troops, use the Continuity Soldier stat block with a different uniform, and the Continuity Officer for a commander. Use Scavenger for ordinary valley people and guides.
