Camp Seven, The Donor Camp

What is going on here (GM only)

Camp Seven is a Lifeline donor camp for Mutated people, in the pine woods 20 miles outside Atlanta. About 400 donors live here. Each one gives blood twice a month, and the blood goes to Atlanta to make the Booster Shot. Donors are fed and housed, but they are not free to leave.

Most donors were caught at the gates of Atlanta or on the roads, and never given a choice. Clifton Road Gate sends Mutated to its quarantine pens, and most are then offered a place in a donor camp.

Dr. Hana Ito follows Lifeline rules on paper and bends them in small ways, with extra food and fewer draws for the sick. In 2063 she treated a girl named Nell Avery after a zombie bite and was the first to see that Nell never got sick. She reported it, as the rules said. Lifeline took Nell away in 2064. Hana has regretted it every day since. She is afraid of Samuel Whitfield and Dr. Amara Osei.

Josiah Bell knew Nell's mother and watched Nell grow up. He does not know where she is now.

The Marked have a hidden camp at Stone Mountain, east of Atlanta. They help donors escape and smuggle Booster Shots. Jamal Hayes grew up in Camp Seven and escaped in 2058 with Loretta Banks's group.

Curtis Moody has started to wonder why people who give blood for everyone are kept behind wire. He has not asked anyone yet.

The people and what they want

  • Josiah Bell, the donors' leader. A Mutated man and a former church deacon. He believes talking works better than fighting, and he has won small things for the donors that way. Some younger donors think he has given up. He has not.

  • Dr. Hana Ito, the Lifeline doctor. She treats every donor as a patient. She wants the camp to be less cruel, and she is full of guilt.

  • Curtis Moody, a young tower guard. He follows orders because he is scared not to. He wants someone older to tell him what is right.

  • Jamal Hayes, a Marked smuggler at Stone Mountain Camp. He wants every donor out.

  • Samuel Whitfield, the head of Lifeline, in Atlanta. He set up the donor camps and wants them full.

Where it can go

  1. Escape. A breakout, one donor at a time or all at once, with help from the Marked at Stone Mountain Camp.

  2. Reform. Josiah's way. Small wins won by talking, with Hana's help and proof of what the camp costs.

  3. A guard who changes sides. Curtis could become a friend inside the fence, or the one who gives everyone away.

  4. Nell's story. Hana and Josiah know where a girl who never got sick came from. Players who hear the rumor of the immune child may start asking.

  5. The Booster trade. The blood wagon, smuggled Boosters and Lifeline staff who sell doses on the side.

Dangers nearby

  • Lifeline Guards and Lifeline Retrievers hunt runaways. Guards patrol the roads for 50 miles around Atlanta.

  • Burners burn Mutated alive when they catch them.

  • Zombies wander in the pine woods, though few come near the fence.

  • Every gate in Atlanta tests blood. A Mutated player is always caught by the test.
