The Grange is a farm co-op. Its farms grow the corn, wheat and beef that feed the strongholds. Its farms spread across the Plains during the Roads years. Food is power, and the Grange has the most food in North America.
The Grange covers Iowa and the Great Plains. Its council meets at the old Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Its farms are fenced, spread out and far from the dead cities. Miller Grange in Iowa is one of its farms.
Harriet Vogel, 66, female, is the chair of the Grange Council. She sets prices and decides which strongholds get food first. Each farm has its own farm boss, such as Walt Miller of Miller Grange.
The Grange wants to stay neutral and keep selling to anyone who pays. It wants safe roads for its wagons. Its biggest fear is the summer horde migration across the Plains, which can wipe out a farm in a day.
Outsiders can trade, or work in the fields for food and a bunk. Farm families are careful with strangers but fair. They blood test anyone who stays the night.
Mutated may work the far fields if they stay away from the families. Undead are shot, because they steal cattle to eat.
Corn, wheat, beef, eggs, honey, leather and horses. The Grange buys tools, bullets, medicine and fuel.
Allies. The Gate Compact, its biggest buyer.
Neutral. Everyone else. The Grange sells to Lifeline, Continuity Command and even the Tollmen.
Enemies. Raiders who hit its wagons. The Tollmen when the tolls get too high.
There is no special stat block for the Grange. Farm hands with guns use the Scavenger stat block. Farm boss guards use the Raider Boss stat block in Grange clothes. The Grange often hires Tollmen or strangers to guard its wagons.
