VII. The Gilded Doll (A Personal Favorite)

Nestled within the Aurora Exchange is a speakeasy that should not exist and absolutely does.

The Gilded Doll has no marked entrance and appears only to those already invited, yet in plain site for all to see.

It is run by Silque, a living doll—once a luxury enchantment, later an accident, and now a businesswoman of exceptional talent.

Over-enchanted beyond safety, Silque gained sentience after her noble owner vanished in scandal. She learned the city by listening. She purchased a forgotten sub-level beneath the Exchange and bound herself to it.

Her life is tied to the establishment.

In return:

  • the walls remember conversations

  • doors appear when needed

  • secrets stay where they belong

Silque is neutral.

Everyone trusts her.

This should concern you.

If you want to know something ask Silque, but like she says "It'll cost you, can you afford it hon"
I Pindle Quickquill most definitely can not, fyi she's not too keen on pocket lint and candy.
