The Shattered Radiance

It is said that when the Great Wyrm Ophyxia’s mind fractured, giving birth to the lesser dragons, her thoughts were scattered like motes of dust in the wind. But from the very core of her being, from the most profound thoughts of connection and unbreakable harmony, two sibling souls were born: Lystris, the Gold Dragon, a being of light and hope, and her brother, Thauris, the Brass Dragon, a living ember of warmth and life.

As their newly birthed siblings scattered across Wyrmgath, each claiming a territory suited to their nature, Lystris could not fathom the thought of being separated from her brother, nor could Thauris bear the thought of venturing forth without her protective presence. So they made a solemn pact to stay together, and they burrowed deep into the heart of The Dragon's Spine mountains, a place of shared essence where they could feel the constant, rhythmic dream of the Mother.

Here, in the cold, unyielding heart of the mountains, the whispers of light and life from Ophyxia’s dream drew forth a sacred community. Flocks of graceful Owlin and swift Aarakocra soared to their new home, their wings carrying them above the world’s conflict. The mischievous and kind-hearted Satyr and the wise Kenku also answered the call, guided by a sense of deep spiritual kinship.

Through the combined power of their druidic magic and the immense might of the dragons, a glorious temple was constructed. Carved not from stone but from the very essence of light and living energy, The Sanctum of Shattered Radiance is a living monument to the purest and warmest thoughts of Ophyxia's fractured mind. While hidden in the most treacherous passes of the Dragon’s Spine, the monks and worshipers of the Sanctum continue their sacred duty. Through meditation and benevolent magic, they work tirelessly to help Lystris and Thauris to knit the shattered thoughts back together, to mend the divine wound that gave birth to all the dragons. For they know that this is the only way to protect all life on Wyrmdream, to keep the Dream Mother from waking, and to save the world from her final, terrible end.
