Agna Qel'a
Agna Qel'a is the capital city of the Northern Water Tribe, located on the shores of the Northern Sea.
Ba Sing Se
Ba Sing Se is the capital of the Earth Kingdom as well as one of its constituent states,[2] encompassing a large portion of the nation's northeastern corner. After the Surrender of Omashu, the city became the last great Earth Kingdom stronghold during the Hundred Year War.
Boiling Rock
The Boiling Rock is a maximum security Fire Nation prison known for its history of unsuccessful escape attempts. The prison is situated on a volcanic island in the middle of a boiling lake, hence its name. The most dangerous criminals, both domestic and foreign alike, are sent here; these prisoners included thieves, traitors, and prisoners of war.
Chin Village
Chin Village is a town located on the cliffs of the Earth Kingdom's southwestern coast. It was named after Chin the Conqueror.
Crescent Island
Crescent Island is a volcanic isle in the eastern Fire Nation that once housed a temple for the Fire Sages and a shrine to Avatar Roku.
Ember Island
Ember Island is a renowned resort area located in the outer islands of the northern Fire Nation. Set among palm trees and luscious vegetation, it is home to many luxurious resorts and vacation homes for the wealthy and powerful. Many high-ranking Fire Nation officials have vacation homes here and the island is viewed as the top vacation destination in the Fire Nation.
Fire Fountain City
The city was once known as a place where spiritual experiences were common and anyone could see a vision of the other side, but the village cashed in on its reputation rather than maintaining the supposedly hallowed ground. Visitors paid charlatans for fake spiritual encounters and cheap entertainment, and the city turned into a carnival town and glorified gambling den. The city was one of the many industrial towns in the Fire Nation that supported the war effort. Many factories are located around the city, and pollution is extensive. The settlement is a working-class town with seedy elements. It is considered unsafe to walk around Fire Fountain City at night, so most citizens stay indoors.
Fire Nation Capital
The Fire Nation Capital is the seat of the government for the Fire Nation. It is home to the Fire Lord, the Fire Nation Royal Family, and Fire Nation nobility. The city is located on Capital Island, the largest island of the Fire Nation archipelago. The Fire Nation Capital is one of the largest settlements in the world. It has a distinct layout consisting of the Royal Plaza, a forum located directly past the First Lord's Harbor; Harbor City, a large district consisting of industrial areas and the homes of mostly lower-class people; and Hari Bulkan, also known as Royal Caldera City, a residential district situated within the crater of a dormant volcano hosting the Fire Nation Royal Palace and various homes of Fire Nation elite.
Fire Nation Colonial Village
This Fire Nation colonial village was located in the northwestern Earth Kingdom. The village was a renowned cultural center during the colonial era.
Fire Nation Royal Palace
The Fire Nation Royal Palace is the home of the Fire Nation Royal Family and serves as the seat of the Fire Nation government. Located at the center of the Caldera City crater in the Capital, it is one of the most recognizable structures in the Fire Nation and is heavily guarded day and night in order to protect its high-class residents.
Foggy Swamp
The Foggy Swamp is a vast, mysterious wetland covering a large portion of the southwestern Earth Kingdom. The swamp is densely populated by a variety of fauna and flora, the most notable being the catgator. The local population consists of a tribe of waterbenders, who migrated to the swamp from the South Pole millennia prior to the outbreak of the Hundred Year War. The tribe maintains a strong relationship with nature; they navigate the dense undergrowth with skiffs, where they forage for sustenance.
Foggy Swamp Village
Home of the Foggy Swamp Tribe, one of the three Water Tribes in the Avatar World. The tribesmen are descendants of individuals who migrated from the South Pole to the Foggy Swamp in the Earth Kingdom, where they established a separate faction that eventually developed a distinct culture and bending style separate from those of the two polar tribes.

Full Moon Bay
Full Moon Bay is a secluded cove in the East Lake, located just south of Ba Sing Se. It is the location of a hidden ferry station that refugees from all over the southern portion of the Earth Kingdom came to on their way to Ba Sing Se.
Gaipan
Gaipan was a small village in the Earth Kingdom. During a period of Fire Nation occupation, it was destroyed by a catastrophic man-made flood.
Gaoling
Gaoling is a large town located within a mountain range in the State of Gaoling, southern Earth Kingdom. An old and well-established town, Gaoling has a broad spectrum of citizens, ranging from the very rich, such as the Beifong family, to the very poor.
General Fong's fortress
General Fong's fortress is a secluded Earth Kingdom military facility situated in a mountain range on the west coast. The complex included barracks for the troops, guest quarters, a large infirmary to care for injured soldiers, a temple for prayer, and even a recreation area for soldiers to relax.
Hama's village
Hama's village is a small town located in one of the central islands of the Fire Nation. Its citizens believe it to be haunted by a "moon monster" who caused locals to disappear during the full moon.
Harbor City
Located between the central volcano and the harbor, Harbor City houses much of the capital's population. Most of the capital's lower class and working class people live there. It is a much less prestigious area than Hari Bulkan, and living in Harbor City consequently entails a stigma as it conveys a lesser social status. Fire Nationals who have managed to rise in the ranks or gain great wealth accordingly often move their homes from Harbor City to Hari Bulkan. Harbor City is a sprawling settlement extending into the hills and consists of residential as well as industrial districts. Harbor City's industry supplies refined metal to build tanks, warships, and weapons that help maintain the city's defenses.
Harbor Town
The harbor town is a coastal settlement in the United Republic of Nations. It remained free from Fire Nation control during the Hundred Year War.
Hari Bulkan
Located in a crater within a dormant volcanic crater, Hari Bulkan,[6][7] also known as Royal Caldera City,[8] is home to many of the Fire Nation's wealthiest and most important nobles and their estates, and many who do not reside in the capital full-time still maintain households here.
Jang Hui
Jang Hui is a small fishing village situated in one of the outer islands of the Fire Nation. Located on the Jang Hui River, from which it takes its name, this unique settlement is made up of houseboats and buildings on stilts, connected by bridges and planks. In 90 AG, this thriving fishing community found its well-being ruined when the Fire Nation military appropriated a plot of land on the banks of the Jang Hui River, and established the Fire Nation Army factory – a tremendous metal manufacturing facility which served as the principle smelter for weapon production. The factory spewed all of its waste out into the river, polluting the water and destroying the villagers' chief livelihood.
Kolau Mountain Range
The Kolau Mountain Range, sometimes just Kolau, is a large chain of mountains located in the southwestern Earth Kingdom, famous for encompassing both the Cave of Two Lovers and the city of Omashu, known as the birthplace of earthbending.
Kyoshi Island
Kyoshi Island is a small island located off the southern coast of the Earth Kingdom, best known as the adopted home of Avatar Kyoshi.
Lake Laogai
Lake Laogai is a large body of water located within the Agrarian Zone of Ba Sing Se. Hidden beneath the lake was a high-security underground prison, the existence of which was initially relatively well known until it was repurposed and became surrounded with secrecy during the Conspiracy of Ba Sing Se. Long Feng began to use Lake Laogai for his personal purpose of interning anyone there whose actions were contrary to his plans.
Makapu Village
Makapu Village is a small farming village located on the slopes of Mt. Makapu, and the residence of the fortuneteller Aunt Wu around 100 AG.
Mining Village
The mining village is a settlement in the Earth Kingdom. Its inhabitants are forced to mine coal for the Fire Nation.
Misty Palms Oasis
The Misty Palms Oasis is a town located on the southwestern edge of the Si Wong Desert. Originally hosting only a seedy cantina, the oasis was always crowded with traders, soldiers, and wanderers of the Si Wong Desert, as it garnered significant traffic from a diverse crowd of mostly Earth Kingdom citizens. As the final stop to rest and buy or trade anything before venturing into the desert, the Misty Palms Oasis is of great importance to travelers who need to stock up on supplies.
Mo Ce Sea
The Mo Ce Sea is an open body of water located between the western Earth Kingdom, eastern Fire Nation, and the United Republic of Nations.
Northern Sea
The Northern Sea, also known as the North Sea, is a large, open body of water located between the northern Earth Kingdom and the Northern Water Tribe.
Northern Water Tribe
The Northern Water Tribe is an independent state located within the realms of the North Pole, and the oldest division of the three Water Tribes.
Omashu
Omashu is the second largest city in the Earth Kingdom, surpassed in size and importance only by the capital city of Ba Sing Se.
Patola Mountains
The Patola Mountains are a mountain range located on an island in the South Sea, north of the South Pole.
Plains village
The plains village is located in the arid grasslands of the southern Earth Kingdom, to the west of the Si Wong Desert. It is not a particularly ideal place to live in and is home to several suspicious characters, including Gow, who, along with his gang of thugs, pass off as Earth Kingdom soldiers in order to force the citizens to yield to their will. They often forcefully enlist unwilling citizens into the Earth Kingdom Army and steal food and money from those they consider weak.
Quarry
Inside the quarry, sheer cliffs, multi-tiered terraces, and arches can be found, and various types of rocks, boulders, and sand are scattered throughout the area. The middle of the quarry is flat and suitable for camping, although the rock-hard ground may prove uncomfortable to sleep on. The quarry is surrounded by large geological formations and a small forest where various Earth Kingdom animals live, including the saber-tooth moose lion.
Roku's island
Roku's island is a small Fire Nation isle that served as Avatar Roku's home in his later years. Prior to a catastrophic volcanic eruption, the island was the site of a minor settlement. When Roku was not attending to his Avatar duties, he and his wife, Ta Min, dwelt peacefully in a modest cottage there. Roku's dragon, Fang, lived in a cliff face cave just behind it.
Senlin Village
Senlin Village is a small farming settlement located within the scorched forest. The surrounding woodland is protected by a spirit known as Hei Bai.
Serpent's Pass
The Serpent's Pass is a narrow strip of land located between the East and West Lakes that connects the Southern and Northern parts of the Earth Kingdom. One of the few direct paths to Ba Sing Se, it is named after the serpent which guards it, making the pass feared in the nation. During the Hundred Year War, most refugees refused to use the pass, opting instead cross the lake by boat.

Shu Jing
Shu Jing is a town located on one of the eastern islands of the Fire Nation. Situated on a cliff that houses a system of waterfalls, it is one of the many small, peaceful settlements tucked away throughout the Fire Islands.
Si Wong Desert
The Si Wong Desert is an arid region located in the central Earth Kingdom. It is the largest, driest, and hottest desert on Earth, and due to its extreme climate, the region is almost impossible to cross successfully. The desert is sparsely populated by the Si Wong tribes and beetle-headed merchants, and with the region outside of the control of the Earth Kingdom government, its inhabitants are effectively independent.
Southern Water Tribe
The Southern Water Tribe is an independent state located at the South Pole and the southern division of the Water Tribes.
Sun Warriors' Ancient City
The Sun Warriors' ancient city is a large, historic settlement located on an island north of the Fire Nation mainland. It was thought to be uninhabited, but the Sun Warrior civilization still exists in the city. Much of this stone metropolis is now covered in vines and sits unused, as the tribe is much smaller than it used to be. Some of the architecture of this ancient city is mirrored in modern day Fire Nation architecture, most specifically the Fire Sages' temples.
Taihua Mountains
The Taihua Mountains are a large chain of mountains located in the northern Earth Kingdom, reaching from south of Ba Sing Sei to its west and to the Northern Air Temple.
Taku
Taku is an abandoned city on the shores of the United Republic of Nations. The city was destroyed during the first years of the Hundred Year War.

The Great Divide
The Great Divide is a large canyon located in the rocky regions of the central Earth Kingdom and the largest canyon in the world.
The Scorched Forest
The scorched forest is a region of hilly and expansive woodland with a small river snaking through the land located in the vicinity of Senlin Village in the southern United Republic of Nations, formerly the western Earth Kingdom.

Tu Zin
Tu Zin is a small, abandoned village located near a mountainous region of the southern Earth Kingdom.
Wolf Cove
Wolf Cove, also known as Capital City, was a sprawling metropolis and the center of government and culture of the Southern Water Tribe. After the Fire Nation raids it was abandoned, and is a state of disrepair.
Wulong Forest
The Wulong Forest is a geographical feature situated on the coast of the western United Republic of Nations, formerly the Earth Kingdom. It is characterized by the hundreds of rock columns that tower over the landscape.

Yon Rha's Village
Yon Rha's village is built on rough terrain, and in most areas the ground is not level. To one side of the settlement is a natural, gently sloping wall of bare rock that forms the side of a small mountain. The land is flatter in the other direction, where a grassy plain takes prevalence. A small pathway snakes through this plain and leads to a more rocky, inclined region, at which point the walkway becomes a long and winding staircase made from stone. After this point, the road is flat and unpaved. It extends to Yon Rha's house, and somewhere in the middle there is a decorative red arch.
