King Thalion Redbane, a man whose fiery red hair mirrored his tyrannical temper, had ascended the throne only a few years prior. His father, Zarok Redbane, had been a legend – a sorcerer of unparalleled power who had held Redbania in a vice-like grip for decades. Though Zarok was gone, his legacy of fear lingered, casting a long shadow across the land.

The city is easily recognizable by the dazzling and gigantic Tower of the Zooko, the symbol of Versia, at the city's center. Behind the Tower lies the Lord's Mansion, where the current Lord (or Lady) of the Versia resides. The city itself lives up to its nickname as the Emerald City spires of varying green shades rise along a complex airy corridors which connect the streets. Bursting out of each tower is a brilliant dark green light.
