Dungeon Access & Regulation in Abyros

The Abyros Dungeon — known officially as @The Breach — is the single, shared entry point into the world’s most powerful and unpredictable anomaly. Every guild draws strength, knowledge, and status from its depths. As such, Dungeon access is both an opportunity... and a pressure valve for Abyros’ fragile balance of power.

The Breach: Shared Entry, Unshared Intent

The @The Breach lies at the center of the city, surrounded by neutral infrastructure, arcane stabilizers, and containment rings. It is not owned by any one guild. A joint decree known as the Descent Accord mandates equal access for all eight guilds — a document etched into radiant stone and magically enforced.

Despite this, Guild control manifests in indirect ways: scheduling, intimidation, security detail dominance, and resource “negotiation.”

Entry Protocols:

All adventurers must register with their guild's Descent Liaison Office before entering. A mission code, rank validation, and temporal anchor token are required.

  • Rank Restrictions:

    • Rank E: Floors 1–6 only (training & survival evaluation)

    • Rank D: Floors 7–11 (relic recovery allowed)

    • Rank C+: Free travel up to authorized clearance depth

  • Temporal Anchoring:

    • All delvers are marked with a time-lock glyph before descent. Survivors must return before glyph decay or risk dislocation.

  • Relic Registration:

    • All retrieved items must be declared, catalogued, and evaluated. Guilds may dispute ownership. Broker involvement common.

Security & Containment:

The Breach is guarded by an autonomous force known as the @Wardens of Descent — cross-guild specialists trained in stabilization magic, mutation response, and suppression tactics.

  • Daily barrier tuning occurs at dawn

  • Emergency breach shutters can be activated by Guild Council vote or Warden override

  • Any mass emergence event triggers Zone Lockdown Protocol 9

Black Descent:

Some adventurers bypass protocol and descend unregistered — these are known as Black Delvers. Many are @Rogue Adventurer , relic thieves, or experimental agents. Some never return. Others return... different.

Guilds officially condemn Black Descents. Unofficially? Some sponsor them.

Cultural Impact:

The Dungeon is the spine of Abyros. Its depth defines your worth. Its risks are your proof. All roads in the city lead to the Breach — and not all who descend return as themselves.
