  • Class: @Adventurer (Champion)

  • Status: The only survivor of the @30'th Floor - The Maw of Eternity

  • Residence: The @Ashspire , a tower anchored in the inner containment ring beside the Breach

Origins

Born among the Orrak clans, Ser Calvess was once destined for the Wardens of Descent. His immense endurance, carved by rune-scars of his lineage, made him a natural guardian. He rose quickly, earning renown as a commander-in-training. Yet his fate changed forever when he was chosen for the infamous Thirtieth Descent — an expedition into the 30th Floor of the Breach, where the aberration known as @The Devourer of Names awaited.

Of all who descended, only Calvess returned. His comrades’ names were erased from records, their very memories devoured. His own survival remains a mystery. Some whisper he bargained with the abyss itself. Others claim he slew the Devourer but was marked in turn.

The Ashspire

The Guildmasters, fearing both his power and his presence, sanctioned the creation of the Ashspire — a jagged black tower chained to the Breach’s containment ring. It serves both as his sanctuary and his prison. Guildmasters tolerate his survival, but none dare trust it fully. The Ashspire bleeds faint sparks of Breach energy, and some claim the tower itself holds him in check.

Every day, pilgrims gather at its base, hoping to glimpse him. Some see him as a savior, others as a herald of the Breach’s hunger.

Personality & Presence

  • Speaks rarely, and when he does, the world seems to listen.

  • Protects civilians with a zeal that unsettles the guilds.

  • Refuses allegiance to any faction — a blade only for Abyros itself.

  • His aura suppresses sound within thirty feet, a scar left by his battle with the Devourer.

To meet his gaze is to feel as if one’s name teeters on the edge of erasure.

The Nullfang Blade

Forged from the shattered fang of the Devourer of Names, this weapon ignores resistance and can shear identity itself. A critical strike erases a fragment of memory from its victim. The blade is feared not just for its lethality, but for its symbolic weight: proof that something from the 30th Floor can be brought back.

Legacy

  • To Civilians: A protector, myth, and symbol of defiance against the guilds’ endless hunger.

  • To Adventurers: A terrifying reminder that survival does not mean victory.

  • To Guilds: A threat — and a rival. His very existence undermines their monopoly of power.

  • To the Breach: Perhaps its greatest mistake… or its greatest agent.

Rumors & Whispers

  • Calvess is slowly becoming a vessel of the Breach.

  • He cannot die until the 30th Floor reclaims him.

  • The names erased by the Devourer whisper through him at night.

  • Should he fall, the Ashspire will collapse — and the Breach will widen.

Quote

“I did not conquer the Breach. I only carry its silence… so that you may still speak.”
