Jewel Hive is the easternmost of the nine Hives of Pantala, located between Bloodworm Hive and Wasp Hive on the shore of Dragonfly Bay. Jewel Hive is on the "leg" of the dragon-shaped continent. It is also considered to be the most artistic and musical Hive. It was ruled by Lady Jewel until the events of The Flames of Hope in which she became the queen of the HiveWings.

Lost city of night

Lost city of night

The lost city of night, also known as the Night Kingdom, is an ancient city that was inhabited by the NightWing tribe during the era of Darkstalker. It is located south of the Kingdom of Sand, on a peninsula known as the Talon Peninsula. The city was abandoned soon after Darkstalker publicly murdered his father Arctic, and was therefore quickly forgotten. For thousands of years, the majority of its landscape slowly sank into the ocean. It did not appear on any known Pyrrhian maps, and was only rediscovered when Darkstalker reinhabited it during the events of Darkness of Dragons. It was then re-abandoned for a time, but is currently inhabited by a small group of NightWings in the encampment known as Renewal.

Mantis Hive

Mantis Hive

Mantis Hive is the southernmost of the nine Hives of Pantala, located between Cicada Hive and Bloodworm Hive. It is also close to some unlabeled lakes. It is considered "the smart Hive" according to Cricket,[1] and was formerly ruled by Lady Mantis until the events of The Flames of Hope.

Mud Kingdom

The Mud Kingdom is the home and territory of the MudWings. It forms the back of Pyrrhia which is right under the Sky Kingdom's wing and next to the Rainforest Kingdom and the Kingdom of the Sea. Queen Moorhen currently rules the Mud Kingdom.

Nightwing Island

Nightwing Island

The NightWing island was the secret home of the NightWings after the tribe abandoned the lost city of night in fear of Darkstalker's return. It is connected to the Rainforest Kingdom by an animus-enchanted tunnel, but can also be reached by crossing the sea. It is located north of Pyrrhia, although the exact location is unknown. After the island's volcano erupted in The Dark Secret, the NightWings fled to the Rainforest Kingdom and accepted Glory as their new queen. This event is known as the NightWing Exodus.

Pantala

Pantala

Pantala, also known as the Lost Continent by the dragons of Pyrrhia, is one of the two known continents in the Wings of Fire series, the other being Pyrrhia. It takes several days of traveling from the west of Pyrrhia to get there. Its existence was hinted at occasionally, before being confirmed at the end of Darkness of Dragons. The Pantalan dragon tribes consist of the SilkWings, HiveWings, LeafWings, and the now-extinct BeetleWings.

Possibility

Possibility

Possibility is a large town on the Great Five-Tail River. It originally consisted of a SandWing settlement on the west side and a SkyWing village on the east, but the two sides slowly merged together over the War of SandWing Succession to form Possibility.[1] Hundreds of dragons from all seven Pyrrhian tribes occupy the town, and many of Queen Ruby's soldiers patrol the streets.[2]

Pyrrhia

Pyrrhia

Pyrrhia, also known as the Distant Kingdoms by the dragons of Pantala, is the sole setting of the Wings of Fire series during the first ten books, as well as the main setting of the Legends and Winglets books. Pyrrhia is a large continent with highly varied biomes, including the Ice Kingdom, the Kingdom of Sand, the Sky Kingdom, the Mud Kingdom, the Rainforest Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Sea, and the NightWing island. The Old NightWing Kingdom was located on a peninsula southwest of the Kingdom of Sand. During the time of Darkstalker, this peninsula used to be larger, forming the "claw" of Pyrrhia. The humans who inhabit Pyrrhia live in human settlements.

It was formerly ruled by Ex-Queen Scarlet, and is currently under the reign of Queen Ruby.

The Hives

The Hives

The nine Hives are cities[9][10] inhabited by HiveWings and SilkWings, with Wasp Hive being the largest and oldest.[11] The Hives are made out of a paper-thin material called treestuff, which is a particular mixture of wood pulp, clay, and silk that allows light to filter through while being as solid as rock.[12] The Hives are spread out in a wide circle across the continent, with silk bridges connecting them.[9] Each Hive was once ruled by one of Wasp's female relatives, such as Lady Jewel and Lady Bloodworm, before Wasp and all of her sisters were imprisoned.

The Poison Jungle

The Poison Jungle

The Poison Jungle was the last remaining forest on Pantala after the Tree Wars. It was said to be full of dangerous plants and wildlife, which was why the forest was left alone by the Queen Wasp and the HiveWings. Various dangerous plants were described to be in the jungle, such as sundews, venus dragon-traps, cobra lilies, waterwheels, and the quarantined othermind.[13] Further in the jungle are the homes of both LeafWing factions, the PoisonWings and the SapWings. The jungle was destroyed by the end of The Poison Jungle when the breath of evil manipulated Blue into burning it down with flamesilk.
