Tidecallers of Nami no Kuni
The @The Tidecallers of Nami no Kuni are a secluded and highly disciplined faction of Kaijinsei sword-healers, hailing from the legendary archipelago far beyond the mapped routes of Aethertide. Known as the custodians of the Three Tides—Mending, Stillness, and Crashing—they embody harmony, healing, and restrained martial might.
In @Aethertide they live in relative peace in @Whisperstone Shoal just north of @Free Keys
The current leader of @The Tidecallers of Nami no Kuni in @Aethertide is @Master Arashi no Kaen . Some speculate that one day @Aethertide will recieve an invasion coming from belligerant factions native of Nami no Kuni
Philosophy
The Tidecallers believe that balance is not passivity, but the art of intervention at the precise moment. They teach that every action must restore harmony: to calm, to mend, or, if required, to end discord swiftly.
Their Three Tides doctrine:
Mending Tide – the practice of magical and mundane healing
Tide of Stillness – the art of spiritual discipline and peacekeeping presence
Crashing Tide – the refined martial techniques that strike only when diplomacy fails
Role in Aethertide
While not a political faction, the Tidecallers act as roving guardians, emissaries, and healers in places where suffering or imbalance stirs the sea’s will. Most view them with reverence, though some factions fear their judgment.
Their presence is rare, often arriving in times of great illness, war, or magical instability
They refuse to ally with any of Aethertide’s dominant powers but have been known to offer temporary service to neutral or just causes
Appearance & Symbols
Tidecallers wear layered robes in hues of sea-foam, pearl, and mist-grey, bound with oceanweave sashes. Each carries a Tideblade and a mirror of stillwater, used in both divination and ritual.
Their sigil: a spiraling wave encircling a single drop, representing the Three Tides and the moment of clarity.
Known Practices
Wayfarer Circles: Tidecaller trios who roam Aethertide healing the sick, breaking curses, and subtly influencing balance.
The Shell Rite: A vow ceremony where Tidecallers give up permanent anchorage in Nami no Kuni to serve abroad
Call of Return: A silent compulsion felt only by their own, drawing Tidecallers back home when the sea deems their purpose fulfilled
Reputation
To the @The Veythane Empire , they are untouchable pilgrims.
To the @The Black Nine , they are dangerous meddlers.
To @Tidewatch City , they are invaluable but untrustable allies.
To the @The Stormcallers’ Covenant , they are spiritual cousins—welcomed, but watched.
“The sea sends Tidecallers where the storm is loudest.”
