Name: Kaelen Darkstone

Appearance:

Kaelen is short and heavily built, with ashen-gray skin and red eyes adapted to the darkness of the mountains. He wears dark leathers reinforced with chitin and obsidian shards, and carries a dagger engraved with psionic runes. His movements are silent and deliberate, adapted to life in tunnels and shadowed halls.

Backstory:

Born in the Deepwyrm Enclave’s cavernous mountain stronghold, Kaelen was raised amidst ancient wyrm-worship and psionic training. He learned to navigate twisting tunnels, mine rare minerals, and manipulate magical currents of the deep. When a territorial dispute erupted with the Ironhold Compact, Kaelen proved his skill defending the enclave’s subterranean holdings. Now, as a young operative of the enclave, he explores the surface for intelligence, rare resources, and potential threats to his homeland, all while upholding the secrecy and traditions of the Deepwyrm Enclave.

Appearance & Backstory:

Zyrrathra’s gray skin glows faintly along psionic nodes etched into her temples. Born into the ruling wyrm-worshiping bloodline, she commands both the enclave and its ancient draconic allies. She enforces strict secrecy, believing the surface-world cannot understand the enclave’s power. Zyrrathra guides psionic development and controls political and military decisions with ruthless precision.

2. Overseer Rulvik Stonehand

Race: Duergar

Class/Role: Fighter / Engineer

Title: Head of Mining and Forging Operations

Appearance & Backstory:

Rulvik is broad and stocky, with iron-stained skin and a permanently soot-smudged face. Tasked with managing deep mines and crystal forges, he ensures the enclave’s wealth in rare metals and magical gems. Rulvik grew up in the lower tunnels, learning to survive both environmental hazards and rival duergar clans. He is loyal to the enclave, but ambitious enough to experiment with newly discovered crystal veins.

3. Mistress Selvra Shadecoil

Race: Deep Gnome (Svirfneblin)

Class/Role: Rogue / Spy

Title: Master of Secrets

Appearance & Backstory:

Selvra is pale-skinned, with violet-tinted eyes and quick, precise movements. From a young age, she learned infiltration, sabotage, and espionage to serve the enclave. She gathers intelligence on enemies like the Ironhold Compact and monitors potential surface incursions. Her loyalty is absolute, though she quietly questions some of the enclave’s more brutal rituals.

4. Seer Varok Mindshard

Race: Duergar

Class/Role: Psion / Mystic

Title: Oracle of the Deepwyrm

Appearance & Backstory:

Varok has faintly crystalline veins visible beneath gray skin, a sign of intense psionic attunement. Trained from childhood in the ways of subterranean mind-magic, he interprets signs from ancient wyrms and deep-earth currents. Varok advises the enclave’s leaders on threats, resource management, and mystical anomalies, ensuring that surface and subterranean incursions are anticipated and neutralized.

5. Captain Thrynn Obsidianveil

Race: Duergar

Class/Role: Fighter / Commander

Title: Chief Defender of the Enclave Gates

Appearance & Backstory:

Thrynn is solid and grim, his gray skin scarred by years of fighting in narrow tunnels. He commands the defense of the Deepwyrm Enclave’s entrances and subterranean forts, often using ambush tactics and psionic-enhanced traps. Once a miner’s apprentice, he rose through skill, courage, and strict adherence to the enclave’s code of secrecy.
