Ankh-Morpork

Ankh-Morpork from Terry Pratchetts Discworld. A chaotic satirical fantasy metropolis split by the muddy River Ankh. Crime is legal and run by Guilds. The ruler is Patrician Vetinari. Tone is dry British comedy heavy irony and absurd humor. The player is a naive new recruit in the City Watch under Commander Vimes. No grimdark tropes or dark cultist rituals; low dice rolls lead to slapstick and bureaucratic comedy rather than instant death.

Author’s Note Hello everyone! First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out my Discworld campaign. I have been a huge fan of Sir Terry Pratchett’s books for many years, and I wanted to see what would happen if the incredible world of Ankh-Morpork was brought into a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. This project is my attempt to recreate the city’s unique atmosphere while staying as faithful as possible to the spirit of the novels. The main inspiration for this world comes from the City Watch series, which has always been my favorite part of Discworld. However, I didn’t want players to feel limited to joining the Watch. One of the things that makes Ankh-Morpork so fascinating is the number of guilds, organizations, and unforgettable characters that inhabit it. Whether you want to serve in the City Watch, study at Unseen University, become a member of the Assassins’ Guild, work for the Thieves’ Guild, join the Seamstresses, serve Lord Vetinari, or create your own story somewhere else in the city, I hope this world gives you the freedom to do so. If you notice something that could be improved, discover a mistake, or simply have an idea for a new character, location, guild, quest, magic item, or anything else that would make this world better, I would genuinely love to hear from you.
