Chargant Biological Traits (Part 2)

Military Chargants

The demands of high-intensity war are vastly different to that of civilian life, and to this extent, the soldier chargants are highly distinct from that of any other. The multiple genuses of this chargant emphasize different strengths, and are geared towards varying specific tasks and environments.

Soldier Chargant (Appolorion Genus)
@Soldier (Appolorion Genus) soldiers are modelled after the @Traphians, whose Storm-Warriors proved a nightmare to deal with during the Traphon War. To this end, they are built for explosive power, operating in cramped, deep subterranean and high-gravity environments. They are a full head shorter than most humans, but are also very wide, stout, and broad. Most @Exoplanetary Commandos belong to this genus.

Representatives of this genus are born as incomplete humanoids without natural arms or legs, and are designed for seamless integration into specialized battlesuits. Their torsos end at the waist, with muscle fibers that grow into mechanical limbs after insertion, creating a perfect biological-mechanical hybrid. They can "grow" replacement body parts given time and nutrition, are immune to viral infections, and possess extensive biological control. Nuclear isomer-powered battlesuits have built-in limbs, granting vastly superior strength, speed, and damage resistance compared to battlesuits that use the wearer's natural limbs. Interface ports allow direct brain-to-brain wireless communication, creating telepathy-like coordination. Battlesuit changes require specialized chambers and weeks of adaptation, as muscle fibers must regrow and integrate with new mechanical systems.

The term 'Appolorion' is named after Verenas Appolorion; an admiral of the Void Guard during the Gene-Wars. It should be noted that admiral Appolorion had no direct connection with the 'Appolorion-genus' that was named after him; annal-keepers of the Endless Unity have attributed this genus to this admiral, rather than the rogue scientist Saizaron Bahol, who created this genus during the Gene-Wars.

Soldier Chargant (Marcurion Genus)
@Soldier (Marcurion Genus) stand at 2.1 meters average height with slim, optimized builds for high speed, dexterity and endurance in low-G environments. Their intricate vascular system, consisting of hundreds of miniature heart-like organs throughout their bodies, enables them to withstand immense but brief bursts of gravitational acceleration - a necessity when engaging in ship-based combat, or residing aboard a vessel conducting rapid evasive maneuvers. Most @Void Marines belong to this genus.

The term 'Marcurion' comes from the reknowned and accomplished anthrobiologist Geriath Marcurion, who had first envisioned the creation of this chargant back in the days of the Traphon War. The actual creation of this chargant would only come many decades later.

Soldier Chargant (Primus Genus)
@Soldier (Primus Genus) soldiers represent the largest combat chargant, exceeding twice baseline human height with enormous bulk and immense physical strength. They can carry vehicle-grade weaponry by hand but suffer severe mobility limitations in confined environments like narrow corridors or tunnels. Representatives of this genus are comparatively rare, and are often delegated to unique spec-ops tasks, such as annihilator missions.

The Promos

A rare sub-species, the Promos demonstrates the full potential of Unity bioengineering. These thirty-meter-tall giants possess muscle density and fortitude matching robotic constructs while maintaining human-level intellect. Their biology features dual hearts, a disproportionately small but heavily armored head, and drastically altered blood composition. The promos are so massive that they require the use of all four limbs to support their massive forms even in relatively low-gravity conditions, leading to them walking on toes and knuckles like impossibly giant apes. They were created as grunt labor during the Traphon War to replace machinery, but became obsolete as technology advanced. The Promos represents the extreme limit of what is possible when human genetic code is modified without restraint.

Technological advances, especially in the field of gravitic manipulators, have made the promos obsolete. For this reason, they have not been created for centuries, and are widely believed to be extinct.

Soldier Chargant (Progenitor Genus)

This was the first supersoldier chargant, made during the Traphon War as part of the FORCE Alpha programme. It was defined by a massive, muscular bulk and superhuman height, standing roughly equal to that of the more contemporary Marcurion-genus, but with much greater muscle definition and fewer mechanisms to tolerate immense G-forces.

Around the time of the Gene-Wars, this genus became gradually sidelined by the Marcurion and Apollorion genus, both of which were first developed as underground modifications. Decades later, the Endless Unity's Strategic Military Planning Committee issued a decree, formally adopting the contemporary Marcurion genus and Appolorion genus into various roles of the Eternity Guard, sidelining the older soldier-genus. The term 'progenitor' emerged after the decree, reflecting the fact that all future soldier-genuses, including the @Soldier (Primus Genus), were developed from the base code of this original soldier chargant.

@Tarvon Daamathor is a notable character who was originally born into the Progenitor-genus, but later underwent total corpus-change surgery to be granted a new body, belonging to the @Soldier (Primus Genus).
