The result was the monolith: a mobile echo of the God-Machines, designed to operate where orbital fleets could not reach.

The Traphon War: A New Dimension of Combat

The Traphon Stellar Empire's integration into galactic politics introduced a weapon that violated every conventional assumption about planetary invasion. Monoliths could bypass orbital defenses entirely, delivered to target worlds concealed within bulk cargo or assembled from components in secret. Once planetside, they would bury themselves deep—beneath oceans, bedrock, or stable mantle layers—using disruption fields to carve out launch caverns while remaining virtually undetectable to orbital sensors. Their cloaking modules bent detection around pressure-carved hulls, and their drives produced no conventional energy signatures that could be tracked from space.

The strategic impact was immediate: logistics chains, fuel depots, and command facilities across entire star systems became vulnerable to interplanetary missile strikes emerging from any planetary body.
