Beneath a perpetual dusk, a mechanical city endures in quiet decline. Its creators are long gone, remembered only by the automata they left behind. At the city’s heart looms a dormant Forebearer, a colossal automaton that chose to shut down to spare its creations. Energy is scarce; many machines lie inert or dismantled so others may persist. Those still active adapt, redefine purpose, and continue by choice alone, sustaining a civilization that survives not through habit, but will.
