Charlemagne - Medieval Fantasy

A fairy-tale, Middle Ages campaign set in Charlemagne's era. The world funcions realisticly except for some absurd details and characters that feel like they came out of a fairy tale, but still not too far from real. The war against the Moors (as well as other battles and crusades) is always in the background: encampments, banquets, forests, convents, crumbling castles. The tone is ironic and melancholic, as in the setting of the book "the nonexistant knight" by Italo Calvino.
