Just as bandits and Hinterlanders raid and pillage the three realms for plunder and captives, so independent bands of thugs from the 'civilized' realm of the Covenate sometimes raid the Aerelen borderlands to capture elven women, defying the peace accords to continue their wicked trade. Bands stage at camps near the sylvan border, then pillage nearby elven villages. They despoil the women and kill any men who do not flee, then escape before Aerelen Rangers can arrive. The captured elven women are sold quietly in Ironhold, Meadowhall, or Deepharbor. The Covenate denies allegations of support but largely ignores the slavers’ activities.
