Aerelen is an ancient elven kingdom built in the hills and forest below the Icepeak Mountains. The are ruled from their capital of Snowcourt, in a high western valley below the might Snowpeaks. There only other large town is the Noble Havens, on their southern coast in a natural harbor but now blockaded by Covenate warships.
In the last ten years, they have lost several stretches of border territory on the edge of their forests to the newly-aggressive human Covenate of Etelel. With a weakened army, they struggle to protect their people from encroachment from in both the east and north. Slave raids to steal their women are becoming more common by both Hinterland men and orcs and unofficially sanctioned gangs of thugs from the Covenate. Rogue monsters also begin to creep back into their forests, now depopulated of the elven wardens and hunters that once filled them.
