The First Humans

Before dragons were dragons, humans landed on thr planet to start a colony. They landed on an island not inhabited by much, and started to build there. They had a very large city built and had begun to send men and supplies over seas, when an accident occurred. One of their main power centers blew up and destroyed the whole city, irradiating the entire island and killing all life left there. In order to stop the spread of the bad air, the wind god started to fly around the island and create an isolated pocket of air around it.

This accident created the substance later known as Magic. The radiation mixed with molten rock and created a highly reactive substance with acidic properties. Since then, Magic has spread around the world through underground channels.

After the accident, the only humans left were those on the mainland. They only had so much technology, and ended up having to go back to basics, as they did not have the advanced tech to start a new colony with.
