Settlements
Dragons learned about civilization from Humans. Proto-dragons watches humans and started to mimic them by living together and beginning to farm. They quickly began their own settlements and became a people where half lived in the wilderness as their ancestors did, and the other half live has humans do. Because of this, there are many different programs to help dragons transition from the wild, to civilization. There are few programs that help dragons live in the wilderness, but they do exist.
Most large towns and cities will look closer to various medieval styles. The most common building materials are wood, stone, and metal. Though in the desert, they have resorted to traditional methods found in desert regions on earth.
WHAT TO EXPECT!
Roads
Roads are important to most of the "modern" settlements for humans and dragons. Inside the towns they are made of stones and a type of concrete that binds them together. Cities and large towns often have gutters in their roads to collect rain water. Some gutters are big and/or deep enough to support certain fish species, and are usually clean enough to do so. Though with particularly big gutters, small "bridges" are made on top so carts are not disturbed. Roads between towns are often made of gravel or just dirt.
Plumbing
Plumbing is not a thing that all settlements have— and those that do have very basic plumbing that needs no power. Sinks with hand pumps are all the rage in the cities. Big towns often have businesses outfitted with them, and some richer households as well. Houses without any handpump sinks will still be connected to the toilet pipe system. Settlements without plumbing at all will often still have pipes that run down into a sectioned off "lake" where the waste is treated with magic to turn it back into usable water.
Settlements with plumbing also tend to have public baths. These are often heated like roman baths were, and either use natural heating, or tiny fire dragons to keep it warm. These are open to all, and often use purified sparkle water to help keep the water clean after all the dirt and grime. Because of public baths existing, personal ones tend to be a luxury.
Accessibility
Dragon settlements are very handicap friendly due to all the different species needs. Though the buildings and doors tend to be much, much bigger because of the massive size of many species. While they take a lot of inspiration from ancient human architecture (which is modern architecture to us), they do not use stairs. Instead there are poles and climbing walls in settlements without humans. Mixed towns will often have a mixture of both styles, stairs and climbing spaces.
Windows
Windows are common in many buildings. Businesses use them on their storefronts quite often when they can. Cities do this the most, with a lot of main streets being lined with glass store fronts.
Religion
Any settlement with dragons willingly in it, will often have at least one place of religious gathering. Most dragons are believers in the Death God, so they often build a church/temple to gather in every so often. Most of these are lived in by demi gods or a preacher that acts as a religious figure for that community.
Costal Cities
Coastal cities with dragons tend to also be built for sea serpents. This means large gutters in the roads, tube and tank systems, and other accommodations. These are mostly on commercial districts, and do not extend past the inner town/city. Sea serpents also come in various species. The main characteristic is their six fins and elongated bodies. They are related to the dragons first land dwelling ancestors.
Desert Cities
Anything built in the desert looks wildly different to the normal medieval look. Its often built with what materials they have on hand, such as sandstone.
Trading Posts
These are big warehouses that trade in goods for money. Dragons in the wild often come here to sell any extras they have. These places take the goods and give them money for it. The goods in these warehouses can alternatively be bought, and are often a source of rarer goods for cheap.
