Underneath the dirt and rocks lay many civilizations run by dragons. These dragons are built for life in the caves, and their economy is based on trading their resources for resources they need. These civilizations produce the most rock, magic, metals, and gemstones— and import mostly food, wood, and anything else they cannot get themselves. They share the same government style as all dragon settlements, but are more adapted to underground needs.

Magic Lighting

Magic is used to light up the caves. They employ a number of different methods to do this, such as directing magic flows into an exposed stone, brick, or metal pipe system and covering it with glass. This is mostly used for streets. They also use magic lamps for street lights and homes. Some may even use magic crystals on the ceiling or on buildings to help light things up.

Cities and Settlements

Underground settlements are built in caves that are carved out for use, though some are built in or near stone quarries. They are linked together by long, reinforced tunnels that are used to ship passengers and goods to settlements deep below. Most of their buildings are made of various stones, or is simply carved out and reinforced with metal and wood. The decor in these cities tends to be carved into support poles and buildings, or are statues in gardens. Their parks and gardens are mostly artificial, and have the most light that is manually covered or dimmed for the night. This light helps plants grow where they usually don't, giving public areas a nice feel.
