Europe in 2060 is a web of sovereign states stitched together by the European Dimensional Defense Union (@EDDU)—a standing treaty system for early-warning, shared Gate Belt standards, heritage-site protection, riverine suturing, and cross-border logistics. The @EDDU’s watch floor synchronizes Channel–North Sea–Baltic maritime nets with Rhine–Seine–Elbe–Danube river belts and Alpine/Carpathian passes. Britain remains a pillar on the maritime flank (joint cross-Channel response, shipborne strike groups, heritage defense), while continental capitals co-chair inland belts and rail evacuations. Siren colors, belt iconography, @KHATIM frequency libraries, and after-action formats are standardized union-wide; deployment authority stays national, but interoperability is muscle memory.

Population has concentrated into ringed metros and river citadels; low-lying and peripheral towns shuttered or were re-founded as belt waystations. Urban policy everywhere reads the same three imperatives: protect corridors, preserve culture, keep trade moving—the same “shield-first” grammar Britain formalized after London’s Underground Break and the Summer of Sirens (2057).

Threat Ecology & Gate Geography (macro)

The European home biome is Undead. Hazards manifest as barrow-wakes on uplands, necrotic fogs in river bottoms, and crypt-surges around ancient burial grounds and catacombs. Europe treats these as terrain-bound pressures, not permanent conquests: suturing, sanctifying, and draining are routine arts.

@EDDU maps also mark two S-Rank anomalies that shape planning:

• Slovakia — Morthas, the Avatar of Death (Undead, S-Rank). The Carpathian Curtain—paired Gate Belts along the Little Carpathians and the Danube bend—keeps transit open around an interior Danger Zone. Travel is permitted with ring escorts; all rail consists carry sanctifier cars and mobile decon.

• Ireland — Jol, the Cosmic Giant (Giant, S-Rank). Though the continental biome is Undead, the western maritime net accounts for Jol’s wake fields; @EDDU and the UK maintain standoff lanes and escort windows across the Irish Sea without violating Irish sovereignty.

Spillovers from adjacent biomes ride commerce and climate: Construct eddies via Mediterranean energy hubs, Aberration pockets along high-density fiber corridors, and Demonic heat cells occasionally borne into the Bay of Biscay on rare synoptic flips. @EDDU doctrine treats all such intrusions as corridors, not conquests—steer, suture, and resume schedule.

Doctrines & Fieldcraft (the European toolkit)

• @KHATIM Arrays (Union Spec). Peripheral Posts are sunk along ring roads, quays, and levees; Keystone Nodes anchor under bridges, bastions, or cathedral squares; Seal Keys are tuned to local stone—chalk and flint in the west, granite in the north, limestone and basalt across the Alps and Carpathians. Arrays force dormancy and are held under months of pickets.

• The Bell Net. Thousands of towers and heritage bells were re-hung with resonance couplers. Timed peals phase-cancel necrotic harmonics and keep evacuation cadence on beat. (In Britain this matured into “shield-first”; on the continent it is the Bell Net.)

• Heritage Engineering. Europe exports discreet shield integration kits—micro-nodes for vaults, peal-timed controllers for bell towers, and “invisible” pylon sockets for listed masonry—along with training cadres.
